Beautiful voice. It upsets me to see horrible comments posted by "so called" professionals who are probably having a few voice lessons which Mammy or Daddy are paying for. THIS is what Faure had in mind, not a boy soprano. a woman to sing the Pie Jesu sweetly with compassion and care. He has historically been quoted to have prefered the women voice. If people actually did musical history research it was the Roman Catholic Church which forced boy sopranos into parts written for women. Faure actually wrote in a letter to violinist Eugène Ysaÿe,August 4 1900,stating,a woman by the name of Little Torrès was to be hired to sing Pie Jesu.

beautiful voice! but, i think that maybe there is a bit too much desire in her voice. it sounds like she should be singing a Wagner piece, not "Pie Jesu".

but that's my uneducated opinion.

I envy her beautiful fortes and pianos both. She has a fantastic way of carrying the piece strongly and captivating the audience! i would have loved to see it live.

It's not uncommon to see professional singers use music in professional concerts. But to see her not use music so she can invest emotionally in the piece makes it that much better. Not to mention she has a killer voice. I approve.

El mundo del canto clasico esta lleno de mujeres de tecnica casi perfecta, a lo cual la senora Zavaleta, y lo digo con todo respeto, no se acerca. Lo mismo he escuchado en algun momento de Sarah Brightman y otras del mismo rubro. Cuanta ignorancia. Escuchen a Anna Moffo, Joan Sutherland, Karita Mattila. Esas si son sopranos, no mermas. I agree with you 100%. Sometimes I listen to phenomenal artists performing like gods and all of a sudden some comment about bar 450, or "heard better". I feel like crying sometimes. I have heard Fauré's Pie Jesu many, many times and it will never get any better than this. It was such a reverent, unpretentious performance full of beautifl sacredness.

A very lovely voice, but the harp just killed it for me. I have never heard a rendition of this piece with the harp. And I felt the orchestra was too much. They just came across too loud for this piece. With the Faure Requiem, less is more. This is just my humble opinion.
