This fire is very fishy I think .What a shame to lose a building thats part of Haworth, This Mill has supported so many families, it makes me sad and mad!
who is the contractor doing the work? they look like relaly good operators. how ld was that crappy old mill anyhow? good to see it ocome down finally. what an eyesore.
@6969Wolf6969 An Eyesore? How dear you, this is Yorkshires landscape, The new housing that is going there will be much more of a eyesore then the factory. Not only have we lost a beautiful building but hundreds of people have lost there jobs...
Its a very sad thing, i used to keep my ponies in the field above the mill, & i know loads of people who have worked at that mill, we all have our opinions, & i'll keep mine to myself, bu i have to agree with th3soundguy....but thats as far as i will go, could tell u stories that would make ur toes curl.
But i get why they have taken it down, but can they still find the root of the fire now its a pile of rubble on the floor?
@jimmyay1 they are pulling it down so soon becasue they don't want it to fall down on itself as the floors and roof did fall though so the outer walls didn't have much support as it was all on the bottom and the fire left it as a empty shell so it would of been weak and they must of thought they didn't want it standing as it was a danger. so they are pulling it down as i've just said so it isn't suspiciously quick demolition they are pulling it down for saftey reasons.
I guess that this will be on the news tonight on calender and look north as they were camera crews at the end of the vid. its a shame they couldn't save it from the fire
Devasted my aunty worked in this magnificent building a long long time ago when they made cloth.
