@sw1000xg 80 feet or 1700 feet, your dead either way. 1700' Towers have elevators that take you up most of the way. Climb up 200' and hang from a mount 10' away from the tower.

@VanHausen12345 But surely that's not as high as these guys are at? There must be some other explanation to it if it's not that, but you certainly do think it is safer to jump into water rather than onto solid ground.
My comment was directed at the silly contrived video (dramatic music, cliche voice-over, quick editing etc) not the fact that this is dangerous work that folk actually do on a daily basis.
$110 dollars an hour? I earn £110 a day climbing trees, this job looks great too! I'm baffled as to why people need to cluster around the base of the tower, something is bound to get dropped, especially wearing those thick gloves.
Lucky bandanna? Ripped bag? Hey man I will take this job, I have Iron experience as well as several years of rigging for heavy crane loads. @Kesantula I agree that the narration is overly dramatic but that's what the show calls for, but how is it 'typical American' narration? Wouldn't a British or Australian narrator have hyped it up, too?
@mgfaxlad I most definitely agree. We too hype things up to make it a good show, cause after all, it's tv, but just not quite as dramatic as the Americans do it. There is a quote from another person here that I agree with...
