The guy playing Long Duc Dong is Gedde Watanabe, a Japanese American, born in Utah. His parents are Americans born in the USA, who were interned in American concentration camps during WWII.

He is just acting and made us all laugh. Gedde, was on some episodes of Sesame Street, where he didn't have to talk in a fake accent.

He didn't give a crap where he was; he didn't come across as insecure or anything. He just let it all out. He should have studied Chinese accents or characters instead of just studying his friend who was Korean; yeah that he should of have done. It was just a fun character. Not a serious acting role or a serious character.
