  • I woke up in a foot of water that day D: i was a 6 year old girl then... you know how grossed out i was? lol

  • Most of the rain fell on the evening of the 8th into the morning of the 9th. The 100 year flood for Houston in a 24 hour period is 13 inches. This was more like a 500 year or more event.

  • I was not even 50 miles away from Houston and we got less than .50 of an inch from this event - and this was on the afternoon of the 9th which was a Sunday. The rainfall totals were extreme in many areas - however the westside of Houston, areas like Katy saw no more than 3 inches this event. The heaviest rain was on the North East Side of town, where an average of 25 to 30 inches fell. Southeast Houston, Central Houston, and even parts of Southwest Houston saw 10 to 20 inches. Airport saw 11inch

  • I was 16 when this happened. We were out in Katy, TX, in Mayde Creek at the time. It flooded so bad out there, I got a blow up raft toy and floated down my street that had become a river. Fire ants were EVERYWHERE, and even saw a few snakes. Good times for me.
