@arsalful The needle is in middle where it suppose to be but because of the camera recording angle it looks like the needle is toward red. I own 2001 325i. I get confused sometime lol
I love my 328i. Only mod is a Signature Motoring performance intake kit. They run around $170 and add up to 9HP in the E46 323/325/328 and up to 13.9HP in the 330. That's about $17/per extra HP... A good value for the extra oomph. General HP increases are shown:
I have an E46 330i and the only performance item I have is the Signature Motoring performance CAI for about $160. The performance kit adds around 13.5HP on the dyno, sounds freaking great, and installs in under 30 minutes. Highly recommended.
-13.5 HP increase
-Lifetime filter
-SOUND AWESOME
-30 min. install time
Aside from the power gain, the SOUND is amazing at higher RPM but sounds normal in regular driving. I’m thinking about added high-flow exhaust next.
To the person below me : stop advertising on YouTube for your damn intake signature motor sucks ass get an injen intake or k&n, intakes don't even do much you want sound get a full exhaust set up, you will gain more power that way and at the same time reduce weight
The E46 looks much more robust than the E36 IMHO. I would put in the Signature Motoring performance intake kit for only around $150 and gain up to 13HP on the stock output for the 330i and a bit less for the 325 and 328. I highly recommend this item, see my youtube channel for the action video on it.
hi, you have a powerful car. how do you swtich the clock to temperature in the dashboard. I have a 01 325i too, but i dont know how to change to the temperature or my car doesnt have it i really don know. need your help thanks.
its the button on the end of your turn signal arm. You will be able to switch the display to temperature, clock, average mpg, average speed, and miles until empty.
Hi, thanks for your hepl, But I already checked my car and did not see any botton at the end of the turn signal arm. I think that botton is on a new BMW, because I have a 01 325i
I really like the e46 325i. I have a gli 2.0turbo which is a little quicker. I still wanted to trade my gli and get the BMW just for a change, but I have negative equity. Nice car!
It does sound superb at high revs I agree but as the guy comments further down, you will lose too much back pressure and a noticable loss of performance so I wouldn't bother. Just buy an induction kit for a sportier sound.
No need, I'll explain it to you. Exhaust system is just piping with 'boxes' placed inbetween. The boxes are called mufflers or silencers and work to reduce noise/sound and create back pressure.
The guy in the video took all these boxes out and put more piping there but left the cat on. The cat (catalitic converter) is the first box at the front of the exhaust system and this one changes harmful gasses into safer ones. The cat also acts as a silencer/muffler though so also reduces noise.
i had my resonators tooken out i put on headers and elimanated my cats and a canister at the back, my 325i sounds like a race car now and i havent got pulled over yet, if your gonna start the exhaust you should finish it! sounds pretty good though!
Ok. This does NOT sound like an M3. No way in hell a 2.5 straight 6 sounds like an amazingly tuned 3.2L straight 6. You're tripping, it might sound similar, but doesn't sound JUST like an M3.
@v33nod3 removing resonators isn't illegal only the cats are illegal, and you shouldn't be to close to the sound limit with just resonators and mufflers off
dude your car is overheating!
is that because of muffler??

did you loose some back pressure, or did it make it kinda gutless after the mod? idk about you but it did to mine
dutchfarmer1 2 years ago
It made it kinda gutless due to the loss of back pressure. When I put the cans back on just recently I did notice a moderate power gain.

That sounds simply incredible. I mean unbelievebaly good. Sounds just like an M3 What do you mean you just took the mufflers off? which one?

Did you just use the stock muffler with increased piping diameter and deleted resonators? Or did you add a muffler also?

I cut the rear muffler out and put straight pipes coming out.
