this is the only way I make my kief/hash extracts. so glad i seen this vid, i noticed though useing the 73 micron first, you the least, but its pretty potant, then i go 160, most of the time that jus a few notches under the 73, then the 220 which somtimes is pretty good due to sativa glands. thanks again for this vid dude

Cute dog! Anyways, I think this method makes far more sense than a tumbler or tedious dry screening. Im going to try this with 200um nylon monofilament mesh that im going to cut into 20" by 20" squares and just use this rubbery cord stuff I have to secure onto, maybe a 3 gallon bucket if I can find one.

if you crush up the ice, it will come in contact with all the trimmings and give you MUCH better results. i am not criticizing your method, clearly it worked out well enough for you, but if you crush up the ice before hand it will give you twice as much in a smaller time period.

I prefer the taste of the finer grades of bubble hash over the taste of dry ice hash using a 160 micron screen. What seems to be happening is that the dry ice is fracturing the plant material, as well as the trichomes and the trichomes are all I care about, but, I also get a lot of tiny pieces of plant matter that doesn't taste at all like hash. This is fast, but the trade-off is in taste and potency (plant matter is not as potent as trichomes). It was fun, but back to bubble hash, for me.

That depends on what your goal is. Do you want quality? Or, do you prefer quantity? This method will give you lots of quantity fast. But, the quality is not so great as I had hoped it would be. Perhaps, if you used finer mesh screen you would get a higher quality using this method, but you would definitely also get less quantity. If I try this method again, I will use a finer mesh screen and be satisfied with less quantity in favor of better quality.

Dry Ice is CO2 other than it giving you, freezer burn because you held it too long without an insulated glove, or you breath too much CO2 in, in a sealed environment, sans those, no you're very safe, it's one of the most stable gases in natural and cleanest.
