Today I used this video for my presentation in India and a research on GOOD example of Business ethics followed by a bank since 1969.
Had a great response from the audience who didn't asked me any questions.
This ad not bad when compared to DBS's latest "Heartbeat Asia" campaign: The very clear global map omits the UK while including other such financially 'important' islands as Madagascar, Tasmania and Sri Lanka? Doubt this is an oversight but likely a response to the UK's Regulatory Authority last year fining DBS for misleading advertising - which clearly continues. Or is a case of Anglophobia? Deal with it DBS!
Oh boy Stefan....the banks have proven how really 'great' they can be to ordinary people, now balance out the bullshit scales by using your undoubtedly wonderful talents to promote more realistic objectives and awareness - you know how banks and the global markets are screwing small people (91%) to enable the rich (9%) to get obscenely rich .... ?
....The concept is great?!?!! ....Good ad???.....I wouldn't go that far. I would say it's a step in the right direction for Standard Chartered Bank. I think whoever allowed these ads to happen on the client side deserves a pat on the back.
Worth noting, this is a collaborative effort between Sagmeister & other designers. The box kites were designed a great typographer called Andrew Byrom.
I didn't know Sagmeister was so much into advertising and filming. It's cool, it uses some of his wonderful tricks with type, but it is advertising. As such, it's full of bollocks.
