Suman Kalyanpur did some excellent work partially in the few decades, despite in the presence of Lata Mangeshkar & Asha Bhosle. It's an irony that she didn't get her due credit which she rightfully deserved. Many thanks to Ajay for reviving her lost work on YT..

This haunting melody from film Noor Mahal was composed by Jani Babu Qawwal.. he used to sing this as a qawwali.... I had priviledge to listen to him in the audience long back... This is one of the best from Suman Kalyanpuri...thanks for posting and sharing ... regards... Shiv Shanker

How poignant Nick! Thanks to YT, these artists are finally getting their rightful dues! It must have been exceptionally cruel to have one's work being thought of someone else'. Even though Lataji's complicity is not the question here, but as it happens in so many walks of line, deafening silence sometimes cuts deeper than a sword! I am so happy for Suman that she gets her gongs back. A very nice song it is with its out of this world music.Thanks for uploading it.

Hemmadi is their Surname. After marriage Suman's Surname changed to Kalyanpur. I have heard a beautiful song rendered by Shyama Hemmadi along with Mohd. Rafi and some of the members confirmed her identity as Suman's sister. I shall send the song or its URL separately. Regards.
