these are cool when making a playlist for someone adds to your authenticity. I also found "hard to handle"original .>- blackcrows covered it and charted as well
Seger allegedly covered this song to demonstrate how the Eagles, with whom he was friendly, stole the bass line and melody for The Long Run. His version and the original are both awesome.
@mdbrowncd -- Hey how cool is that. Guess you need a special book to find that out. I prefer Cash Box's #70 position for this song. Actually it really just should have been a Top 10 song. :-)
People often forget about the artists that originally did these songs . Bob Segar did a stellar cover of this song in 1980 , and most of us remember him for doing it . What a shame .
I think this is the song that influenced the Eagles to write The Long Run, I am almost sure of it.

How cool to find out about this original! I'm surprised that evidently it never charted. Seger's version hit #5.

@rin3guy -- Actually this song DID chart! In January of 1973 it hit #70 on the Cash Box chart. But Billboard never picked it up on their radar.

@rin3guy Actually it did chart in Billboard albeit the Bubbling Under chart...position number 102 in Jan of 73
