it's been out for quite a few years but it only works for a select pure breeds, you have to program it for the particular breed you have, so I'll just have to figure out what my mixed breeds are saying, if you know your dog ,you're gonna just know what they want, but it's a cute gadget all the same, maybe if it was modified to say what the dog means it could help blind owners with seeing eye dogs

when I was a kid I saw a dog barking at her grown offspring. these dogs where listening attentively and for the first time I saw that they had a form of language. I believe their mother taught it to them but what does that mean for pups seperated at birth and raised by humans?

Well, Of course the product is contoversial and not guaranteed to work perfectly. But I always beleived the pitch of a dog's bark reflects its emotions just as the pitch of a human's does. So thats probably what the device is desinged to go by.

Having a dog that hardly barks though, I'd find little use for it anyways.

yes, i think the device react only to some vibration made by the dog voice and print a random sentence who can match with what the dog is doing. example: when the dog is playing "he" said "i'm stronger than you" i don't think this is what a dog think, it would be"this is mine" or stuff like that.
