This is OK but it goes nowhere near where the problems lie. I read about lens design as a hobby (I am a mathematician) and I think it would be more interesting to show a bird's eye view of real design process - why one would want to adjust this surface or why to split an element in two, etc.
cool but he didnt cover what happens when an object is placed ON the focal point of a thin convex lens, like this --->> ()!! there is no image!!! try it and trace the lines, its cool
im learning this topic in my openrt project in intel my brother works at intel too actually he is on a project called ray tracing in gaming. great vid
