haha...that was one of the very few habits I brought back to America when I took a few months in Italy. :P
I think it's much better, at least personally, than the typical american alternative: a firm handshake or a half-assed hug. Of course, the gender differentiation is really different here. "european kisses" as you call them here would be seen as gay, or at least effeminate for men...though girls, I've seen do this all the time.
lol, my family does this. Im pretty used to it but sometimes some person comes around that i dont know or only seen a couple times in my life and you gotta kiss them as they go on about how they havnt seen you since you were yay high, and your right about some of them with not the most pleasent smells lol. This was especially bad when i was dragged around portugual visiting old ppl -.-
@PopInPhresh I know right? My mom just watched this and yelled at me "if your father sees he'll be pissed" haaha. It's true though. It gets annoying doing it to everyone in Europe.
