Really dig the video. Is it just me, or do the Magnetic Fields have a really artsy fan base? I've seen so many cool videos of kids doing very interesting stuff using their songs. I really love it.

@zeppelinator appreciation for "real song writing" is on the wane. Just like appreciation for real art.... people are more interested in rehashing and copying what's out there. It's easier. Nothing wrong with that... but there is a core competency that is lost. Stephen Merritt (Magnetic Fields) represents the old school of "real song writing". People who really think about the emotional response to songs and words and how they intermix, like Bacharach, Lennon, Nilsson... not many left like that.

My emotional critique: I find myself thinking of this video a lot. There are only two things

:13, :37, 1:20, etc, those type of shots

I think aren't very interesting, they seem put in there to fill space, and to show us the character's face, but a face that isn't showing the emotion so evoked by the other shots, and even though the "juggling" looks cool, it doesn't seem to convey much

I think they should be replaced with appropriated stock footage of some kind.

@albacc54 those shots are an attempt to convey the sentiment expressed in the song: infatuation, excitement. What I believe the artist is describing is the experience of this feeling as not mundane, ordinary. I believe it work, but that's my opinion. Good job film maker person
