  • thx gurubhai for posting this

  • Your music is beeng immediately in heaven. Oh! your notes, your melodies, your phrases, your expresion, your soul, your deep Universe that you have inside. You are KRISHNA you are GOD of bansuri.

    Thanks master. Namastei: Salvador Torre

  • What is the aroah and avroah of jog? Thanks

  • Aaroh : Sa, Ga(komal), Ma (shuddh), Pa, Ni (komal), Sa"

Avaroh: Sa", Ni (komal), Pa, Ma (shuddh), Ga(komal), Sa

    Bansuriraj

  • Please note, the Ga is used in both its versions-komal and shudddh in a very peculiar & judicious way, in both the aaroh & avroh, that distinguishes this raga distinctly. So technically, both the Ga's should be mentioned.

  • This is beautiful. I am learning how to play the bansuri now. Any good advice anyone?

  • 1. Get hold of a good Guru who is technically & musically VERY sound.

    2. Practise breathing & fingerwork excerises regularly.

    3. Stop smoking, if you are a smoker.

    4. Listen to as much good classical music as you can to traing your ears & your mind.

    4. No matter what happens NEVER EVER give up.

I have been playing the flute for over 35 years now, yet it never ceases to fascinate me. I still keep discovering new musical horizons everytime I play it.

    Best of luck!

  • isnt it true that chaurasia is a smoker too!? besides that: do u know any good gurus in germany/berlin!?!? thnx very much.

  • i doubt if he is a smoker.

  • How about giving credit to the accompanists?

    Names and Instruments?

    Thanks for wonderful vid.

  • Yogesh Samsi is accompanying on the tabla but the tanpura player's name will remain in anonymity for all eternity... I have no idea who she is but there's a good chance she is one of Panditji's disciples.

  • No, she is not Hariji 's disciple. She simply happens to be accompanying Hariji on the tanpura.

How I wish the quality of the video was good! Nevertheless, a real treat! Thanks!

  • truly beautiful!

  • It is clearly Raaga Jog as is mentioned in the title.

On Bansuri it sounds so wonderful. Nice to listen to such music.

  • YB?? Osho here..

This is Raga Jog I think..

    Osho

  • Beautiful, Thanks for posting this up. Can someone help me finding what raga is this...? To me I feel like it is Nattai... Can some one correct me?

  • It is Raga Jog which is the Hindustani music equivalent of Carnatic Raga Nattai. It uses both ga 's (komal & shuddh), suddh ma & komal ni. Re & Dha are absent. It is a late evening melody & sounds simply divine on the bansuri (bamboo flute). I play it very regularly at my solo concerts. Bansuriraj

  • Thanks for your explaination
