  • BIG MISTAKE FORD!

  • Yeah, blowing up engines (causing smoke and oil leakage) and scrapping perfectly good cars is GREAT for the environment. Hey Ford, why dont you spend your energy designing fireproof Pintos

  • They have great cars now?

    Pinto was 40 years ago.

  • 1. Name me one car that is fireproof

    2. What money is Ford spendng

    3. Ford is not responceabnle for cash for clunkers. What do you expect them to do, turn down hunderes of thousands of extra sales. At the end of the day they are still a company.

    4. Today, Ford is equal to Toyota, Honda and Nissan now. Look it up.

  • I think it is sad that any dealers are greedy enough to even thing of participating in this program.

  • The environment talk is such b.s. This will not affect it at all. Think about the 20,000+ vehicles and what they average in their mpg, and then figure their new car mpg. The change will be maybe 2 mpg? WIth how many vehicles in the world we would never see any difference. Sorry liberal Al Gore lovers :(

  • Yeah this is really a sad program. Perfectly good cars are being destroyed that people who cannot afford newer cars will no longer have available to them. So many good vehicles going to complete waste. What a joke.

  • This broken a__ lame program is supported on the backs of hard working tax payers.......Wake Up People This Is An OBAMANATION!!!!!!!

  • You're destroying cars that run perfectly fine, and building new cars. Hopefully by now you've realized that saving an older car saved energy and resources. In fact, a lot of older cars are MORE fuel efficient than the new "eco friendly" cars.

I'm glad the feds halted it.

  • Shame on you ford execs!!! Shameless gluttons are only for this to sell cars!! Our government has no business buying peoples old cars and trucks anyways!! how about paying down some of the national debt?? Who is goinf to have to pay for this stupid program anyway?? I'll tell you...TAX PAYERS THATS WHO!!!!!!! Very sad times wre in right now..

  • What a joke. Many people are in debt up to their eyeballs and the president is encouraging people to buy NEW cars, most of which will be financed by a LOAN. Great idea, destroy cars that run perfectly fine and take on more debt.

  • that's the idea. It's pretty amazing how they're doing it so fast and efficiently..

    kinda scary!

  • Nothing on the Big 3 lots helps me. I have a '93 Chev full size truck with a six stick. It gets 20 MPG. Everything I look at sitting on dealer lots gets less or no more. I can't get rid of my truck for a car, because I use my truck as a truck daily. The only thing I see coming down the pike is the new Indian built Mahindra pickup that will carry the load and get over 30 MPG. What are you doing, Detroit? Your trucks are too high, all 4x4, are hard to load and use, and get lousy mileage.

  • I wish so bad that I could qualify for the CARS program, but I bought my clunker in January, so I don't meet the one year registration requirement and the darn program ends in November! Gah, it's so frustrating! I hope they extend it
