  • Hey, i am kinda afraid when my dog growl and barks at me, sometimes it tries to bite me!! =O.! what should i do i mean i never scold him nor gave him punishment.

  • my dog likes to chase me and nip at my ankles

  • No wonder my dog never listens. I have been using English to train my GERMAN Shepard. haha

  • i like ur videos my germen shepard listens to me in my backyard but when i walk him he tends to lead when i run or jog hes at my side is it because hes more of a work dog if not could u think why

  • @TheGraves98 mine to

  • training your dog is easy aslong as you are willing to put the time and effort in.use short 1 word commands and focus on one trick such as sit untill your dog has it locked you will confuse it if your giving it a list of things to do while it is still learning.also it is as much about training yourself as training your dog so keep that in mind :)

  • Coming back to watch this after so many years.. You have taught me so much, you're one of my favourite dog trainers (the other is Ian Dunbar) :D Thanks for what you do! :)

  • im not trying to be a butt, it told me nothin on how to train my dog to be obedient. how do i start from step one. getting him to sit and get up. its what i was really looking for. it would be much appreciated if you could help me

  • super

  • Hi

My dog does not get excited like that with anything, he is a douge de bordeoux, I trained him with food, he obeys to the basics, but not immediately some times and I have to repeat the order. tried different treats, tug of war(he likes it but not enough) what else can I try? I would like to teach him more things but I have nothing to manipulate him with. although he is a very well behaved dog, so no worries but I like to interact more with my dog and why not showoff a bit.

  • 1:34 "omgee throw the stick!" gorgeous dog btw!!!

  • what if your dog only likes food? :O?

  • hi i just bought an akita shepherd mix i already have two yappy chihuahuas would he try to kill them possibly when he grows up?

  • Why do you use a different language?

  • Nice dog. How can you train your dog to not watch others eat? I have a mixed spit and she eats a lot. Not that we feed her a lot, just that she likes to eat way to much and I think she's getting over weight. She steels food from the tables and all. Please help?

  • How do you train the dog to go around you like you did? I got two well behaved Rottweilers that know Sit, Stay, come, down and Back ( Back means walk backwards) Can you give me tips on how to make my dogs circle me on command like that while Im standing still?

  • @Agelesslegend23 it's a basic obedience command which is vocalised as "Finish" or "Go round" usually. You start by having your dog in the correct heel position (his right shoulder in line with your left knee) or standing in front of you. Lure him around behind you, using your right hand over your left leg. While your dog is behind you, switch the reward from your right hadn to your left and bring it back in front of you, or to your side. Repeat the command you'd like to use and praise. Easy! :-)

  • thats awesome!

i just got a Doberman puppy who i'm looking forward to start training.. he's just about 6 weeks right now. when should i start training him to where he can fully understand what i'm asking for?

  • my dog doesn't listen i just dont play with him until he listens

  • is it true that you can´t teach an old dog new tricks? i have a 2 year old dalmation and can´t get her to stay. what is the best way to go about this? any feedback is welcomed and appreciated. thanks

  • i have a belgian malinois. she is new to me. i cant call her by her name. what do i need to do?

  • platz stand :D

  • will my dog learn not to pee and act stupid if i smack him?

  • @volcomkidd555 when I first had a dog at 9 years old I didnt know how to train a dog & my parents would spank me when I did wrong so I spanked my dog. As I got older I learned that the dog doesnt need to be spanked. Put a leash on the dog all day every day so you can catch the dogs bad behavior and correct it. Then buy a realy long leash so the dog can get some distance from you and the dog will do something wrong because he/she thinks he can get away with it because they are further away.

  • @1NecroSpawn u spanked ur dog :0 ????

  • @volcomkidd555 Continued. Correct the bad behavior but always give praise when the dog does something you want/like as time goes on your dog will understand that bad behavior is unacceptable and to behave propperly. Be consistant, put yourself in the dogs shoes, dont set your dog up to fail ex. if you know your dog isnt going to come on the come command and you say come your letting your dog know he doesnt have to come so make sure he/she is on leash when training and make it fun and happy.

  • @volcomkidd555 and for the peeing if the dog pees in the house just put the dog outside and ignore the dog. Timing is everything if you see your dog peeing in the house dont startle him/her by chasing the him/her just pick the dog up put them outside. If you know your dog has to go take them outside on a leash dont let the dog wander just stand still dont move ignore the dog untill he/she does his/her buisness and then give praise/treats. Go buy a dog crate its very easy to potty train this way.

  • @eletendre1 I just found our videos, I found a Min doberman pin. he will let me know when he wants to go out and get busy... but he loves to lick us, my son has an allergy to dogs, and we need him to stop doing it... how can I make him not do that? also he loves food, but as soon as he smells the pice food, he will get nuts and wont listen to the comands, we dont know how to fix that ether... little help please!!

  • When using behavior training with children with Autism etc we call this the MO. You use what the child wants or even needs to get them to do what you are trying to teach them.

  • I went to the site no free book dude

  • @Recon8412 Check again dude - amazingdogtrainingman com and there is a the 101 Ways To Improve Your Dog's Behavior and The Dog Training Blueprint.

    Peace

  • @eletendre1 Hmmm i found the book site, but as far as i can see you got to become a member to get it and that cost a monthly fee....

  • @eletendre1 I found the free book, but as far as i could see you had to join to get it and that cost a monthly fee. I don't call that a free book.

  • @dumperbabe "101 Ways To Improve Your Dog's Behavior" and "The Dog Training Blueprint" are 100%, absolutely FREE! No charge, no obligation. I do have a private website for anyone that wants to take their dog training to the next level.

  • @Recon8412 I downloaded it a few days ago. It's definitely there and VERY useful!

  • @Recon8412 lmao

  • I have to disagree with negative motovation, I trained one of my dogs with the invisable fence ( it has a beeper when they get to close and then a shock from the collar ) it worked, but it also tramatized him. everytime he heard a beep on tv, or my cell phone the dog would freak. Positive training is the only way in my oppinion.

  • Hey Eric, I have a question. You see, when ever my sister or brother would walk our two year old German Shepherd, she'd always be focused on me and most of the time try to come back to me. She's a little better now when they walk her but she always looks back at me. And if I drag a little behind when ever we go walking, she'd try to stop and wait for me. Is this because she sees me as dominant or something? Does she respect me? I'm just curious. Thanks! =)

  • What level of Schutzhund is your dog at?

  • do u have to say platz? or can u just say down?

  • why you train your dog with german commads?

  • dang!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that was awsome!!!!!! i wish my black german shepherd would do that

  • @HorseCrazy13101 Join a local Schutzhund group...

  • @HorseCrazy13101 You could join a local Schutzhund club...

  • @SuggaSugga1980 sounds cool but im probably too young lol

  • @HorseCrazy13101 how old are you?....It doesn't hurt to contact them to ask. As long as you are able to control your dog when instructed how, you should be fine....

  • @SuggaSugga1980 im 15

  • I highly recomend becoming a member at his website. These videos are not meant to be full coprehensive trainings, but supplements to his training articles on his website. It's $7 a month but totally worth it. it covers everything from puppies to obedience, from barking to manners. plus, there is a message board where you can get tips directly from Eric. I am not once to subscribe to internet websites lightly....this one is WORTH it if you want to train you dog.

  • HOW TO TEACH MY ROTTWEILER TO BARK ON COMMAND SHE IIDTZ 2 YEARS OLD

  • its very common to train dogs in various languages

    for instance

in the police force when u hav a dog trained in a different language, the criminal or whatever will hav a hard time commanding the dog while he is being attacked

  • how can i help my dog be aware of danger?

  • my german shepard listens to me and i never even trained him and im lovin every min of it.

  • @33333333333333331993 he listens because he respects you....you may not have trained him per say.....but he clearly understands what you expect of him.

  • these videos are really helpful...thanks a million, eric..!! youre a wonderful person..!!

  • nice awesome amazing co0L VIDEO!! men i am so busted!! Lol,how did you do that....

  • Comment removed

  • @melissacarl2002 they aren'T crazy this can sometimes be normal for dogs, like dominance, trying to rule over eachother but if you are the leader they should stop.

if i were you i would take them away from eachother when that happens

  • Nice mal!

  • ur dog is trained in German? Cool.

  • I'd like to teach my dog to fetch. He chases things and barks and snaps at a ball, but only if I chase after too and act interested. Then he just stands there. I give him lots of praise for at least chasing because it's hard to encourage him to do even this. He never bites a ball or a sock. Really not a biter or a chewer (unless it's food). His teeth are fine, he is very healthy. Recent vet check.

  • wow good dog you have!

  • That's a big stick.

  • I say let's go bye bye she runs to the car

  • awesome trees

  • I just adopted a dog and it seems indifferent to toys, sticks or cars, only sleeping on the couch food and with the last he becomes too excited. Is it ok to exploit the food desire if there is no signs so far. Or shall I let him on the couch as a reward?

  • Cool! Thank you!

  • yes he speaks german "platz" "sitz" "fuß"

  • This guy has a real nice dog. I think its a belgian malanois. Those dogs are very athletic.

  • @notorious23m yep

  • @notorious23m Yes it is :)

  • how do u train it to bring the stick back to u?

  • you mean fetch?

  • I would start out on a leash , and praise him to bring it back to you. With time , when you feel comfortable try it off the leash , before you know it , you and your dog will be fetching champions

  • @wafelturkey Teach your dog to come on command once you have done that and the dog understands that command simply introduce a ball or stick. Once your throw the ball and the dog has got it call out your "come" command and it should naturally become the dogs reaction to retrieve the ball for of course another throw!

  • xccol

  • but wat happens if ur dog dont no how to sit or nothing like mine?

  • he speaks german with his dog. is he german?

  • I dont know if he is germanbut mainly dogs globaly are trainned in german language cause those 2-3 basic comands zits=sit plats=down fus=next to the feet are easy for dogs to understund!!!!

I have as well a Grey German sheperd and she is trainned in Germany from where i took her!!!!

Mostly you will listen commands tht they are easy for the dogs to understund and as well you can train easier with this kind of words in your language like for example in french "ale"

  • ok i understand. it's german because of the "hard" and "short" sound of the language. ok =) thank you

  • its: sitz,platz,fuß ^^ xD

  • Cool, the word "Plats" is used in Sweden too, but means "location" / "spot" in english instead of the "down" command which is pronounced "Ligg" in Sweden :P

"Plats" is commonly used to tell the dog to go and lie down on at it's own special place/spot or location :)

  • beautiful dog! My husband and I are getting our first Belgian Malinois this weekend!

  • Great video Eric. As a professional trainer I enjoy other trainers perspective and must say that you were right on target. "Click"

  • well how do you get two older dogs to quit barkink at everything they see after they have had dinner ya know when ya let em out to go potty???

they dont bark all day and never want to go outside just until they have had their supper the barking starts

  • My dog is 9 years old , lab-shepperd , He is something max , very stubborn and still thinks that is a puppy. Thanks for the video.

  • nice 1 eric,thx for the tips

  • thank you vry much!

  • nice...very good trained..... i have a shperd...but i think hes about 4 or 5 years old...do you think i can still train him at that age? i didnt train him when hes was yunger because i had to go study in spain...so my parents bout him and i met him one year later...i didnt get a chance to train him...please i would like some tips...thnks

  • Yes, any dog of any age can be trained. I trained my grandparents dog (about 6-12 years old) how to do some basic obedience (like sit and down) here last summer. The dog had absolutely no training what so ever as it was an outdoor farm dog.

  • that dog is awesome

  • once i threw the stick and my dog ran

and didnt look behind and the stick ended up hiting him

  • use a tennis ball.

  • superb Schutzhund training!

  • i think they use german so not everyone can command the dog

  • ehhlikeaglove:

Being German, I dont condone the anger, but the wording is funny.

  • he's not german.

  • Are you german. Ore just getting the dog from germany.

  • why does he give german commands to the dog?

  • why not?

    ... if its/his native toungue?

  • Man ingorant idiot...its VERY common to train dogs in German commands, military and police departments do it...so criminals are unlikely to be able to command a dog....take a minute to think before you open your mouth... ~_~

  • hahahaha why so serious man? heil hitler. hallelujah jesus ich liebe dich bvut jesus ist eine homo eaten schaisse bla bla.

    jesus, sit. (.)(.) \m/

  • do you not think criminals know this? i work in a prison and believe me- they know, we train our dogs in english- its the tone of voice and voice inflection that trains the dog, not the lanuage you use. I have been a prison dog handler for twenty years handling and training-- if you were wondering

  • @chuckcxr Well that's true what you say, but dogs also listen to the energy of the pack leader so they don't listen to criminals because they don't trust/respect them because they are unknown. I got a pack of dogs myself so they don't understand language, it's the energy you use and the intonation of your voice for example: i say to my dog a loud go so he can go but if you say a loud bow, then he will do the same so it doesn't have to be deutsch, it's all about the energy.

  • cz the dog cant understand english

  • this video is great before my dog didnt have any obiedience and now he is a award winning dog

  • hey how did you get your dog to lay like that

  • i always walk my dogs and she does both

  • I have a jack Russel puppy who is 3 months an I plan to show him in 4-H. Who old should I train him? And how should I train since he is sooo hyper. And I tried to have something that motivates him, but he gets easy distracted. So should I wait to train him?

  • i have a german shepherd who is very hyper and i have no clue of how to train her and what type of training i think i can train her myself, im really good with animals, believe me i love them but i need your advice first

  • Well first, do you walk her? And when/if you do, how is she? Lunging and leaping?

  • I have the same problem only i got him yesterday and he's about 5 months old

  • can any one answer my question?my question is why is my puppy not playful?i got her today and i think its because she is getting used to me and everyone else

but if im wrong please tell me:)

  • what breed of dog, and how many weeks
