Did you need a special tool to remove the Navi? I was told by circuit city installer they needed a special tool from BMW to remove the Navi and complete the setup. Is this true to the best of your ability?
You don't have to touch the navi to do a DICE or Intravee installation - both the DICE and Intravee plug into the CD changer pre-wiring (which all E46s have) behind the left side trunk lining.
If you want to do aux input instead, that plugs into a pre-wiring behind the navi; however, I was able to reach it by removing the center vents.
@roarysart circuit city finds any excuse not to install in your car, they said the exact same thing for a lexus, and i went to another audio shop and they said they didn't need anything special and installed it right away.... circuitcitys out of business so.... reflection of their terrible service and quality
please i have to know... what is the name of the unit, that dose these things (i want to know the name of the label as well what it is... a navigation system + radio or something like that because i want to buy one). THANKS ALLOT!!!
I've found that with an ipod, the cd changer gets no use. You can not use your BMW cd changer with this, but you can buy a switch device and pick up a Alpine cd changer and use them both.
i got the DICE integration unit and the text of the song titles showed up in a black screen under speed dialing.. doesn't look good and it takes over the navigation screen.
i just recently get the latest nav version from bmw. but it didn't give me the 3D looking mao like you have.
If the DICE shows up under speed dialing, you don't have it set to the correct display mode. Select CD6 then select track 6, then go back to track 1. That'll solve that.
You have to enable perspective mode with 29.1. That info is on my web page (google for my last name, linquist, to find my web page).

Ah maybe I should have watched the whole video before posting my comment! If you add an Alpine MP3 changer will it also display the text?

Don't forget, the Intravee II has an advance search function too. This makes it alot easier to find songs and albums

Yes, I made this video before the advanced search function existed :).
