Way cool!! Great camera angle too. I enjoy all your videos and always learn from you along the way. Thanks for taking the time to demo and upload. Merry Christmas.
@druss675 Wow, that's really kind of you, as this is one of those covers I wouldn't mind doing over again. These days I prefer triggering drum sample software instead of using the V-Drum sounds. Thanks.
@CleytonGuitarra The drums are prominent because it's a "drum cover". So you don't play drums very well?! ...ok, well maybe it's not your calling or you should practice more.
What instruments/sounds are you using for each trigger? I like the sounds and want to know cause I play this song thrusday so can you feedback quick. Also what number overall i can't make out what it says is that a 1?
@fatsojiggy007 I'm using a TD-20 Roland V-Drum module that was upgraded to TDW-20 with the Roland Expansion card, it is triggering settings for a 3rd party developer called: VExpressions. Sorry but I don't know what you are asking in your 2nd question.
I love the Drum beats of Haste the Day's drummer.........but........I'm not going to use it in a service. I just think there is a place and time for everything.
@MrTwinsrule Will have to check that band out. This beat is a "syncopated pattern used in "funk" music, wasn't aware it was used in "heavy metal". Anytime we get up on a stage we are drawing attention to ourselves, pastors "draw attention" when they preach, nothing wrong with it of itself, it's what we do while the attention is on us is what is the issue, & essentially it should be on God, not us. Use what skill God has given us, see Lincoln Brewster on this matter. Ck out Gospel Chops players.
@MrTwinsrule Depends on what kind of church/kind of music is. We did a cover of grace like rain where during the last verse, the keyboard player dropped the octave and it sounded really heavy, so I switched a heavy floor tom beat kind of like the one in "Time is running out" by Muse, except a bit slower for the last line. It sounded absolutely fantastic. Before that I was playing quarters on a china while holding a standard 4/4 beat, sounded very metal. But it worked great for what we were doing
The way the drum arrangement is in this song is way too over the top.... imo . I'm a drummer too, and love cool beats, but I am not using for instance, a "Chevelle drum lick" in the Church service. Great job btw.... but If the drummer has to be the focal point of any song in a praise and worship service............., I am a passing! I do not wish to offend.
@MrTwinsrule Good to hear from you & your view on this matter. What is a "Chevelle drum lick"? The drum pattern is the opening focal point that sets up what is to come, then it's the whole band, the drummer does not continue to be the focal point. The drum set is perfectly legit in its use as an instrument, no different than say a guitar or keyboard or vocal in it's role. Psalm 150:5 "praise Him with the clash of cymbals, praise Him with resounding cymbals." God is not offended with drums.
Way cool!! Great camera angle too. I enjoy all your videos and always learn from you along the way. Thanks for taking the time to demo and upload. Merry Christmas.
