He's a legend alright - such a smooth, safe driver.
Love the exhaust "suck back" when he backs off the throttle - can't beat the old yankie iron for the noise factor.
Kenny deserves a knighthood for what he's put back into the sport and his younger charges.

Great video! Kenny obviously still has the touch after fifty years. The b&w picture gives it a retro feel thats somehow fitting when watching F5000. Thanks.

Thankyou so much for this video. You've made a grown man cry !I remember those glory days so well. Truly,giants strode the earth, and joy was found in wide open spaces. the sound of a "full" field of F5000's at full noise on backstraight @ Wigram. Unforgettable ! ! The numbers might have been low at times, but they were worth 10-1 of the crap that replaced them. It's great to see ( and hear ) them back where they belong. Race cars should be raced ! I was at that race meeting. awesome day. awesome weather. awesome f5000's , the best race class we ever had in n.z. in my opinion. Smith is a legend. used to watch him at Levin and manfeild when i was a kid. Used to cheer for his La Valise Lola. ( I wonder where that is now? )thanks so much for the in-car footage!!

Great video, fantastic machines, wonderful sounds; by listening carefully one can detect the instant throttle response and how the driver needs to tiptoe through the corners! Then after exiting the corner the "music" begins in earnest again!
