Pets like cats and dogs have been selectively bred through thousands of years to co-exist with humans... servals, tigers and wolves have not. These things belong in the wild not with some rich people who wants to appear distinguished by getting an exotic pet...

In time domestication began to become more of a social and aesthetic issue, which is fine. But why should we start turning creatures around that would be much better off in the wild other than to serve the selfish needs of people who wants exotic animals as pets because it sets the bar higher and shows everyone else that "We're just a little bit better than you"?
