There's no "contradicting" of a scientific fact here. Religions don't say homosexuality doesn't exist, (only this psychopath) they simply say it's wrong to act in that manner. They're making no statement about the existence of the orientation in the first place.

No, just making a comment. You can say religion is obtrusive in making certain sets of rules, but that doesn't make any statement about whether a person can or cannot be biologically inclined to want to act in a certain way. The statements made by religion is no "there is no such thing as a biological homosexual orientation"--THAT would contradict science, but that's not what they say--only that it's wrong to ACT on that orientation, which makes no statement about science, one way or the other

Whether a biological orientation exists is a very different question from whether it should be acted upon. Look, I'm not a big fan of religious imposition in our bedrooms, but the fact still remains that they aren't denying any biology when they make a statement of whether that biological urge should be acted upon.

Actually, it's totally independent of science. It doesn't "not care about it"--it's a different process altogother--it simply poses possible answers to questions that science never will be able to answer. Most religious people (except for the extreme fanatics) still acknowledge biology, but they also acknowledge that there are questions about how the world came into existence that cannot be answered scientifically (and not just "not yet"--things that need answering the science CANNOT address)
