  • I realy enjoyed listening to how You play, amazing version of this great piece of music. By the way, my father & I, we also liked 'How deep is your love'. Back in the 70' he played guitar in a band too. Big applause!

  • Thanks kasadmat. I think this is one of the great tunes ever. This groove was from the King Curtis version, and if you dig this, you might look that one up.....

    all the best

    joe

  • As I watch all these songs you've covered, I get the feeling you've taken the time to "find the groove" with each and every one of them, Joe. I really appreciate what you do and don't play--meaning, you don't overplay to show off--you let the song lead the way. A real sign of maturity. You're a great musician, and I appreciate seeing you on here!! Thaniks, Joe! Chet Atkins and Joe Pass are surely looking down and smiling on you.

  • hey br

thanks so much for a comment that made my day. one thing i'll second...i'm no 'one take' guy, so yeah, sometimes these vids are the result of several takes until one hits what i want. usually an hour of recording yields one or two takes that i'll post. what mike stern calls 'red light fever'; hit 'record' , forget how to play! most of these songs have been in my set for years, and they keep evolving as i play and hear different versions. 'music is a lifetime gig'.

    thanks again

    joe

  • very cool!

college jazz band tried this one, but we dropped it.

  • thanks gt. i've heard a lot of versions of this, and it took me a while to find the groove i liked, but it's an awesome tune. there was a t.v. series of mike hammer, with stacy keach, that used it as it's theme, and they did a lot of nice versions within the show.

  • That was very nice. Excellent job man.

  • thanks, jazzyedwin. good to hear from you.
