  • elven on amiga sounds more evil than on the c64

  • Amiga version actually sounds just like the NES version.

  • Thanks for posting this - it brings back great memories.

Im especially fond of the "stay a while - stay forever"-speech on the C64.

    Cheers! ^^

  • When I was kid I always thought the voice sounded like Seymour from Simpsons. :D

  • Classic. But we all know the Apple IIgs version is the best.

  • OH GOOOOOD finally found it!!! lool my childhood was this freaking game!! god i love internet xD, i was trying to find this game for months, and now here it is :') almost drop a tear, thanks man for uploading this video!!!! YAY!!

  • Amazing 80's. I've played this one on C64 lot of times and never finished it!

  • The "snow" effect is not necessary. On the C-64 you could press Space to skip it.

  • Hey! Why the remix music instead of the sound effects during gamplay? (I commented too early)

  • @1xWertzui Because there was not that many sound effects and I thought it sounded better with music.

  • @TheCommodore64Player Videos about games without the authentic sound effects are only half of fun. But well, okay. I can try them out also in emulators.

  • The sounds of the C64 version in this video are garbled! But nice video.

  • i remember the c64 version being more like "Another visitor. stay a while.... staaay foeveeeerrrr!!!

  • thanks for the upload. brings back great memories of playing on the amiga as a kid.

  • Was the Spectrum music for this game really that vile? >.<

  • Actually that is not a "sampled voice" that you are hearing on C64 version. That's a synthesized sound generated real-time by SID chip and there is a code behind it, which does the job of creating the pronounced speech sound of supplied word inputs. Quite innovative back in the time.

  • "Another visitor.." Damn I have spent 25 years of my life trying to figure out what this dude was saying on the c= 64 version :o|

  • @Danish4ever77 , I just listened the c64 version, I think it is very clear..you had some problems with your sound ;D

  • Well, the Spectrum version still had better music than the Apple II version that I had, which was even "beepier", using the lowly internal speaker. The Apple II also had no hardware sprite capabilities whatsoever, so the animation was painfully slow and choppy, with a 140x192 resolution.

  • Wait, was that voice clip actually in the Amiga Version?! that beats the famous "Weeeelcome to Turrican!" for clarity!

  • @poopskinTheLiar But it's not nearly as menacing as it should be.

  • I loved this game on my Atari ST. All versions are great: Amiga, C64 and ST (which is very close to Amiga one).

  • That remix is kickass! Nice to see some love for this game, played it tons as a kid. I'll never forget that scream when you fall down to your death.

  • awesome music

  • You can disable the TV-screen scanlines emulation in every ZX emulator.

  • The countdown in my Amiga version is far slower, it's in real seconds. But of course the snow fade effect is faster on the C64, it has half the resolution ;)

  • Wow I must have spent years of my childhood playing this game, thanks for the video!

  • Thank you so much! This video rocks! :-)

  • Oh my god, what a blast from the past, who the hell has time to put this on youtube....... Wait, so glad you did though!!
