I saw this movie as a teen. It was "unrated" and, at the time, that meant anyone could see it so me and my best friend went and watched this in an empty theater. It made such an impact that I bought it as soon as it came out on DVD. It counts, for me, as one of the best horror flicks in my collection.

The first 15 minutes has a real sickening atmosphere that puts your nerves right on edge.

Then BANG; demon time, lots of blood, and fun fun fun.

Not to mention the young buck riding a motorcross around the cinema slaying every demon in sight.

And how can you forget the helicopter scene.

What more could you ask for in a movie?

What a sweet movie to see on the big screen. If you all get a chance, you should do so. I saw it during a grindhouse event of 6 films in a row.

It is a highly enjoyable movie to watch. I have not seen part 2 yet, but understand that it is the same premise only in apt building.

Demons is a great movie. It's too bad most people will never see the 1986 New World Video release version. (featuring a single demon on the cover opposed to several ascending the stairs) The music cues are different, as well as much more droning Argento-esq music in general. And the dubbing is much smoother, especially the punks, whose lines have been altered completely in some cases. Overall, it's a superior experience compared to the subsequent releases, and has a darker atmosphere.

yes, there was a Demons 3 but it was in no way related to the previous two movies by Lamberto Bava: Demons 3 was directed by Umberto Lenzi and was a zombie movie...the called it Demons 3 only to catch the fan's of the two Demons movies attention.

Best Horror of the 80's!! Demons 2 was Okay but not as good as this. The trouble with modern horrors is that they rely too much on cgi effects, even a lot of blood is added now in post production using cgi.
