America does not profit from this pipeline one bit. It all goes to the rest of the world as refined gasoline.

This will not give America cheaper gas, the "jobs" will be temporary at best and we Americans along the pipeline get poisoned water supplies.

SO, once the oil hits Houston and La, it goes elsewhere , while America continues to overpay for refined gasoline. When the pipeline is done, you'll be on unemployment(like a liberal)

As a certified welder, I will say -it doesn't take a genius to weld a pipeline. Robots would probably be safer and cheaper with less flaws in the welds.

@incognrod Keystone XL pipeline project will not great steady jobs? That's true...But there's so much pipeline's to be buildn't or rebuildn't it become's steady if you jump around the country. As far as this pipeline poisoning the water. It already is poisoned the farmer's spray commercials on the ground.. When it rains the rain water will wash them commercials in to ground. So the water is already poisoned...Thank's to the farmer's and there spraying of commercials

Second, NO American is going to pay less at the pump, so why should America have to deal with multinational oil companies, take our land to run a pipeline , so they can then sell the gas to Europe? We need cheap gasoline here in the USA.

I dont live in corn country , my well is free of said chemicals..not my concern.

Cheaper gas is.

@798unionpipeliner not true, there are many areas where the pipeline runs through private land, and the pipeline wins no matter what the landowner says. Eminent Domain is used to take land form South Dakota to Texas.. TransCanada is using our government to push its objective.

This is a no brainer, reports everywhere on land grabs for the pipeline. Im guessing you don't own land so you wouldn't know or care.

Fact-demand is low in the US yet the price rises. speculation.

If it doesn't matter where the oil goes, then why are Unions pushing for work? Because your bottom line is work, no matter the environmental impacts or for the facts of who profits from the pipeline-not americans.

So, multinational companies want to run dirty oil under our land and we get nothing.

wake up americans...there is no reason to build a pipeline to the gulf coast except to export the oil to other countries. they are doing this because the oil where it is now drives down the price in the US. so this whole thing will eventually raise the price of gas. if it was such a great idea, the canadians would just build the refineries there anyhow

@wizardoflawz: The pipeline is being built by way of numerous pipeline "spreads" being built at the same time at different points along the pipeline route.

Lots of ( tie ins) at road crossings and river crossings and corner junctions etc.

Thousands of total people working on the line at various points along the pipeline route.

Eventually everything is all assembled and tested and the integrity of the pipeline is confirmed and then commissioned and the owners begin operations

If it is approved it will take years finish. Numberous Eminant Domain battles would cause long delays. These Court battles could doom the project in the end. Even when and if finished the Oil Prices will be maniplated in ajustment for pipeline.

@circusboy90210 I do not dispute what you say, but the cost of these battles, and the numberous delays it would cause, could kill the project. Remeber what happened in the Kelo case, not imagine a hundred maybe thousands of such cases. That land is now worthless cause it is percieved as stolen by most of the Public.
