I made 1 following your vid and when i came home to start sanding the bondo that i put on it last night it didnt fit lol so i had to bust the back out and take a grinder to cut a slit in the back so that my head cud fit... now it does but a lil discouraged from the ordeal... but now i just have to sand bondo sand and get it ready for paint im gonna make my own video and link it to yours :)

Just wondering, did you skip the whole process and try putting the paint right after you had put masking tape all over that cardboard? I'm asking that cause for now, I don't have much time to do the whole process, and that shape in this video already looks smooth to me.

@jordans704 rockmanmb here..1st I cut them into 1 or 2 inch strips...glue gun comes in handy..I measured my own head..and ork my way around it..the top part was easy and the front part ..but i had to work around the cheek bones..foam is good too. lightwhieght and flexible.

Do you have to use Bondo? Can you just use something like plaster?

@foxfire957 rockmanmb here..no ya don;t have to..but i perfer it becuz ya can sand it down afterward and use the sealer after tat too....plaster?..hehe nope,,plaster cracks and ya have to be extra careful...my opinion anyway

@cory18011801 1st..when ya preheat the oven..keep an GOOD EYE on it...maybe 20 secends that's all it takes..then when it's warm..use a fan to cool it off ,,it will bend and keep the shape..this is rockmanmb by the way,,

Yeah, it helps a little. You just glossed over the initial helmet construction, so there's not much to be gained from this.

@AAZZazA123 after the masking,,ya put on the bondo like icing on a cake..make sure in thin layer..let dry..etc..ya prolly have to do this process a few times..so have a sander and sandblock on standy by...once ya are well done..spray paint at own risk..

@RocManMB - Hay bud Im gonna be trying this as a little fun side project, I wanted to ask, when making it what are the gray parts on the mask during the cardboard process? Are they that Foam padding stuff?

Also Im thinking of making this using a Styrofoam head to mould the head shape when doing the cardboard part, is that a good idea? (Im not planing to wear it, more a home mounted prop - hehe)

@Eufeion hey there..1st..yes the grey parts were foam..I didin't wanna use layer after layer of cardboard..so I used foam.

and stryrafoam works as well..used it in the past to make one of my predator helmets...make sure to cover it with masking tape after and a layer of cardboard..to insure it doesn't get dammaged..

@RockManMB Thanks. I Shall shows you the result once done. I intened just to do the mask (no dreads) but with alot of detail. I also have the font for the predator language so I will include some wording on the helmet.

Also, With regard to details like lines in the helment / scratches, are they done by just drawing them into the bond?

@slivertacoz it's called "bondo" car filler..comes in a small can with a small tube of hardener..ya can get it in any auto or hardware store..looks like grey putty..but when ya mix it with the hardener( apply just a bit, like how ya use toothpaste), and mix together, then applay on mask..be quick..it hardens fast..and I MEAN fast!..best be outside so the sun can dry it..

@badboytish hey badboy..at 1st..it was like how am i gonna do this..and the attempt with cardboard was a thought so I went about,,and some idea didn't work..so using "bondo"..was pain stricken...had to do alot of sanding by hand or with a sander..so lilttle by litlle it worked,,,,alot of sanding,,lost count of the hours but at the end it works out ..and say,,ya man,,I made a whole different predator helmet..cheers dude.

@michealshaanzay how..well ya got to measure ya head 1st..use cardboard strips like an ince wide..sometimes half ince...use a glue gun..it's better than masking/ductape..and faster..it's a lot of xrash n burn method..if one didea doesn't work..try another..

@taeboy45 that would be bondo car filler..it's the grey puddy but once ya mixed it ..it turns pick..and it drys really ,,reallt fast..so I suggest smear it on mask right away..and let it dry out on a hot day...

@HorrorFanatic911 wee ya cut strips of cardboard bend it on side of table...in any size..like 1 or 2 inch strips...ya just have to use ya imagination....1st..around ya head..i started with that...then build up every once in while...what I used is a glue gun ..instead of masking/duct tape...that comes later..it's a slow proscess but it's worth while..
