  • I like how you comment your vids like that, after such a long time. But anyway, I think I did something wrong. When I used ppf-o-matic on Zelda master quest, It said successfully done. But when I play it (Btw its file extention is v64, and im using Project 64). It does the title, the main menu, then Start. After that, its a blank screen.

  • @Scarletdevilist Use a better emulator like Nemu64, Mupen64Plus or 1964. PJ64 is terrible despite it's reputation. Furthermore, the extension of the ROM should be z64 or n64 - big endian.

  • @Hank6LT go to google, download 3 things, ZELOOTMA.z64 (zelda debug rom), PPF O MATIC (the patching software) and lastly Project 64 which is the emulator. Download spinout's patch in his description, then open PPF O MATIC and patch the zelda debug rom. its very straight forward and noob friendly, just takes some common sense. then open the patched debug rom with project 64 to play.

  • Hey, i havnt been messing with debug rom in a while... but i redownloaded Debug rom, and ur patch, and seen this other guys vid about the stuff... but i cant figure out how to get it to work properly... The unpatched will load just fine, but then its too fast to play... but then when i patch it with the ppf o matic, it just keeps a black screen(patched rom) any ideas how to fix this? ill read previous coments to see if anyone else got helped with this problem too

  • @jmanx990 You actually can't, because doors seperate different loaded areas in a map. The way Link goes through doors is just designed to look as if it's actually the same sector. So basically if you got rid of the doors and walked through the hole where the door was, there would be nothing but black voids with little to nothing actually there. I'm sure there's tricks around this though, like the changing sector from Kokiri to the Deku Tree, but that would look really sloppy.

  • @TheDanteEX I was afraid of something like that :C but wait but how about when we were playing though the dungeon i went though one door but the other link couldn't and you still heard the other link on the other side banging on my door. Would there be any cheat out their to bypass a collision. I only can make simple cheats lol with this :C.

  • @jmanx990 Yea, something similar happened to me. The actual previous sector does exist, but nothing is actually rendered. Such as all the objects: ladders, rocks, ledges are all still there, they're just not visible. I'm not totally sure if I'm right or not since I'm not intelligent when it comes to this stuff. :<

  • @jmanx990 it doesn't work with any version other than Master Quest Debug. With the patch properly applied they will show up automatically.

  • So, after trying this, we are basically trying to make the game playable from start to finish. I see there are some things we can't do (like triggering the first boss) but one thing we REALLY need to do is have players 2-4 be able to go through doors in dungeons. Anyone got this to work? If not, can I pray Spinout will fix this?

  • @5oclockshadow The hack is only a proof-of-concept, sorry. To have a fully playable multiplayer OoT would require many more changes to the game's engine.

  • @spinout182 Thank you very much for a reply. Is it possible by any chance to use the portal arrows to get through doors (portal is opened, go through door, open 2nd portal, other links go through) or any other code to get them through? It looks like you disabled the ability for a camera, so I can't enter noclip mode. There has to be some way to get them through a door. Also if you don't mind me asking, why did you disable the ability to use the R button for shield?

  • @5oclockshadow I didn't "disable" the R button - it is a glitch in my code. I could probably extend this hack so that all the links come together at the press of a button.

  • @spinout182 !!!!! Can you!? Would it be too much work? I know absolutely nothing about ASM codes, or I would help. How much effort would that take? That'd pretty much make the game playable for the most part. We did some run throughs and doing that would solve our biggest problem and (in my opinion) would make the game playable

  • @kursun12 Using google or youtube search, look for a guide on how to apply ppf patches to Ocarina of Time. Once you understand the process, apply the patch linked to in the description.

  • I was able to start editing the ASM in MIPS Disassembler mode in Lemasm. However, when I got to a certain point in the code, it started giving me an error when I tried to edit certain lines.

    When I tried editing the line at address 0x00C08550 to this...

    ori $a2, $zero, 0x0000

    ...for the Actor #, it said, "Failed to assemble opcode," and didn't let me save it. I had to hit ESC and it would revert to the original line of code.

    So, long story short, can anyone offer any advice on this matter?

  • @ZackCopyNumber8 Yeah. Don't use Lemasm. If you must, use Renegade 64 and a hex editor - though you can do it with mips-gcc and a tool to insert it, if you have it properly set up.

    I tried using Renegade 64, but I can't figure out how to jump to the address that I want. I've tried Google, YouTube, and the Enhacklopedia, but none of them have anything on Renegade. The only things that I could pull up for "renegade 64 mips assembly" or something similar were things like "Renegade Mode for 'Mario64!!!" So, if you could, let me know how I can get to the right addresses faster... Thanks!

    before the chunks of code. That will set the address in Renegade.

  • @spinout182 Hey man this is really impressive indeed but if I were to enter multiplayer with my friend through net play how would the camera functions work, that is a big issue. I am dying to play this with a friend but if their isn't a separate camera for player 2 then I don't see a point.

    Is there anyway you can code it so only 2 Links spawn with their own unique camera functions? If I knew how I would be asking for your permission to do it instead of asking you to do it for me.

  • lets see, I took your Assembly and assembled it into a gameshark code. I'm trying to figure out what address it should be made out to. when I used the program to assemble it, it did it all to 80000000 to 8000004C so now all i have a problem with is figuring what these should be actually set to. set it to 803EA190-803EA1DC but it didnt work so now I'm trying the Rom address. Technically I have no idea what im doing :P Someone help

  • Defending myself against people like yourself is akin to telling a child why it's not acceptable to scream and cry in public places. If you're going to insult me, please realize that I released mine two years ago -- and if I hadn't; spinout would have absolutely no idea how to do this.

  • You can find the address of the routine simply by setting a read breakpoint on the controller data, but I would have never done this had I not seen your hack. I did this merely as a cleaner re-write, your assembly was horrible.

  • Actually you can't very easily. Try it. BTW The reason it's horrible is because I did it in less than an hour to piss of Xu_Yuan and copy/pasting was easier than rewriting it. I just copied the controller routine four times and JAL'd to the proper one based off of the variable byte.

    I know you have seen my code, and I have seen your code, and while they deal with some of the same variables and share some of the same space, they work completely differently. Mine calculates the offset to get the controller data from, yours goes through a inefficient if else if else if else. The code I wrote to spawn the three other links is based off of part of my "portal" hack. I think I'll release my code and your code, and let everybody decide if I am "literally stealing" your work

  • @spinout182 you used the same exact address which you jacked from mine. it doesn't matter if they work "different" and the fact you are so viciously defending yourself stands as a testament against your character. you have no legitimate explanation of how you discovered that address, which happened to be the same one as mine, other than by using my code as your absolute basis for yours. "i++" and "++ii" in C also work differently, but are in the end, the same thing.
