  • @mrpretz149 it sounds like a FS Thunderbolt and a FS 2001 of some sort any of these 2001-ac,dc,srn,srnb or even a 130 and Thunderbolts 1000,1000t&1003

  • That tornado was in my yard it scared the shit out of me but no damage really just one up rooted tree and some shengals were gone

  • nice :)

  • Omg! At 1:42 u almost got hit by lightning!!!!!

  • God I would love to see a storm like that!

  • @UltimateGameplay101 Yes your storms are very bad there...We get really bad stroms alot but not as many tornadoes as North Dakota. However in the winter we feel your pain here in Ohio more so, it's so cooold and the snow never freakin stops...lol.

  • u must b rly close to the siren haha. i love tornadoes but hate how they never go thru Niles, OH at all...we almost had one at 5:30 in the morning last month but it was northern Trumbull Cty.

  • We had a tornado here in the area of Toledo, Ohio about one month ago. Millbury, Ohio still looks like a war zone, it is very sad. Everytime we have a bad storm or tornado warning I get so scared.

  • yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i love storms any kind night, morning, afternoon, dusk or dawn storms

  • wow what year was this (tornado) from i might rember it but i'm not to sure. its hard to rember all the tornados warngings we had here

  • VERY dangerous behavior filming outside in a storm of that ferocity. use common sense, get the hell outta there!

Mother Nature has a lot of tricks up her sleeve

  • use common sense, get the hell outta there!filming outside in a storm of that ferocity.

    VERY dangerous behavior.

  • @goodlife404 yeah and she is one mean mama

  • You it is like that one strike just set off the siren which is accidental timing I know. But still way cool.

  • I remember this storm! You must leave pretty close to my grandma because a lighting stike came close to use to(just no that close)

  • 6-25-09 clinton,michigan there was a pretty strong derecho

  • I love Columbus's Tornado Siren System. They have a system of random Whelen Series and their howling sound makes it easier to grab attention to near by residents. I can say that the siren being heard the most in the video is a Whelen WPS-3016. Those are the higher pitched Whelens.

  • Man did you have some sort of a deathwish, filming outside in a storm of that ferocity. You could have been turned into a human lightening rod.

  • LOL

  • here in new philadelphia we have federals 2001s thyr really loud cause thyr like right beside

  • wow awesome lighting. Did you guys get hit?

  • Was this during the "windstorm" in ohio? Left over from hurricane ike?

  • nah this was june 09 remember?

  • no that was in i think september 2008

  • That was on the dat of B-Day

  • Gotta love those nights in Ohio watching the news to see where the tornadoes are coming from and if were in it's path.

  • very nice. love the thunder/lightning ambience...havent heard that in a while...lol

  • what time of night was this??

  • I think the warning went out at between 11:30 and 12:00 that night.

  • cool late night tornado!!

  • yessar! fun stuff!

  • you better believe it!!!

  • they even had the tornado sirens malfuntioning from all the electricity generated by the lightening... they wouldn't shut off for 30 minutes after the warning expired

  • well then one of two things happened eather the sirens were malfuntioning or they were sounding the all clear signal.

  • WOW. The strike at 1:42/1:43 is SO CLOSE! I paused the video frame by frame to see it...it looks like it's only 15 yards or so away from you. lol Are severe t-storms and tornado warnings frequent during the spring and summer in Columbus? I'll be there all of may and am hoping so! Crazy as it might sound, I LOVE them. :)

  • The siren that is closets that woundup first is a Federal Signal 2001. The ones that are in the distance are whelens.

  • That's not a 2001, that's a Whelen 3016.

  • yes that is my fault I compared a 2001 with another video on youtube of a 3016 and this one matches with the 3016 and the 2001doesn't have a wind up like this one. The other 3016 windup with one matches. Its actually nice hearing it do this kinda of windup instead of the newer whelens that seem a loud blast like BAAAaaaaaaaNG if you know what I mean.

  • what time was it when this video was shot?

  • There had to be tornadoes in pennslyvania the following night or week. there just had to be. considering that columbus, ohio is not too far from pennslyvania. as a matter of fact on June 26, 2008 FEMA Predicted a tornado risk for not only Pennslyvania but New York and New England too!

  • you know columbus, ohio is not too far from pennslyvania....surley pennslyvania got tornadoes during this same time right?

  • Wow, that is a great video. That Whelen goes great with all of the lightning, and wow at 1:42 that is a wicked strike!

  • that's a whelen siren.

  • Was there a confirmed tornado? There looked like there were power flashes.

  • The melding of the sirens is an excellent sound.

  • wtf at 1:42? some lighting apears all over the screan?

  • Excellent clip. The sirens with the continuous lightning was eerie.

  • hey, there was a tornado warning for us w/ sirens

  • ooooooooooooooh thos sirens give me the creeps. lol.

  • It was maybe about 1/4 mile away. I had a closer one hit when I was not recording that I could hear the electrical crack from the leads of it.

  • how close was that lightening

  • Man. So familiar. I live in New Lex, and the storms we got last week had so much lightning that I couldn't get outside to tape them.

  • I think I live right down the street from you. And yeah, it was pretty scary.

  • Incredible lightning show, probably the most incredible of my life. Thankfully the rotation was south of where I was, I was on the northwest side of town, somewhere between Dublin and Worthington. The tornado sirens kept going off at least 30 minutes after the warning was cancelled.

  • This is the type of badass storm that would be expected for north-central Texas this time of year. How do I know, you might ask?

    I live there!

  • I was soooooo scared it kept me up all NIGHT it went off at least 5-6 times

  • I was soooooo scare.....

  • i loved the lightning that night

  • OMG i was so scared!!! We didn't get the tornado here on Hinman though.

  • There ended up not being an actual tornado.

  • Wow, that is a bad ass storm. Nice steady camera work too.
