This is fascinating. There's clearly no doubt about the date of the record, but if I pretend I don't know the date, I'd swear it sounds like an older record (the electrical process and sound notwithstanding). The arrangement and instruments, not to mention the vocal arrangement all scream something between 1918 and 1921...at least it seems that way, to me.
It's not often that musical content of a record is dissonant with its date to my ear. This is a rare exception.
