  • Great video, very helpful. Thanks for taking the time to put this out there.

  • Quick question......it appears the left elevator pieces (on both sides of the bolt, long metal shafts) on my pardner is bent. How would i go about fixing this? Thanks.

  • @TheyxSeexMexTrollin The safest answer is to send it in for service, or take it to a local gunsmith, but if you have a straight edge, a flat plate of 1" thick steel or an anvil, and a good hand with a ball peen hammer?

  • @420bailey thanks for answering buddy. Funny thing about that. They were bent to far out, letting the shell out early and getting it stuck on the main elevator tab. Works fine now. But thanks for getting back to me.

  • would a 20 gauge be stripped the same way?

  • do you have to take the butt stock off to clean it?

  • @insane931 Short answer... no. However, some stocks slightly cover the trigger group. If you can slide yours past the stock, then you don't need to remove it.

  • thx for the guide it helped out. thumbs up.

  • Great vid and cool music. I have 2 pardners a 28" and 18". I have yet to knock those pins out to pull the trigger group. Didn't know it was that simple lol. I guess its time to give em both a good cleaning.

  • cool

  • On the forend, it has those 2 metal things that go into the shotgun itself to cock the shotgun, on aftermarket forends for this shotgun, it doesnt come with the metal hooks. What do I do to put the hooks on the new forend

  • @hagarman18 You'll need to pick up a nut removal tool to remove the nut on the end of the forearm, then just slide the metal tube/action bars out of the old plastic forearm and into the new. Tighten the nut, and you're done.

  • Razor, when my pardner is fully assembled and the action shut the bolt jiggles, just a little bit, is this normal? It only jiggles if i push the back of it

  • @SupremeAmerican Jiggles or is slightly movable? If it loosely jiggles, something's not right. The tolerances inside these Pardners aren't exactly nil but it should not flop around in there. Does it cycle shells and shoot reliably? If so, I'd say its fine.

  • @RazorTNK slightly moveable. Anyway took it out rabbit hunting today and it worked just fine :D Only problem is, i suck at shooting rabbits.

  • the brennake ko's are rifled slugs btw. Just don't wanna blow my face off lol.

  • @angelseatupward Brennake KO's should be fine. Just be sure to never use ammunition in a Damascus barrel that's not specifically made to be used in a Damascus barrel. Reason being, "modern" gunpowder builds too much pressure for the twisted old school style barrel to handle. :) Please let me know if you have any more questions. Thanks for asking, and watching!

  • @angelseatupward Rifled slugs are for smooth bores. Sabot's are for rifled barrels. It's called a rifled slug because it has etchings on the bullet. Quite the contradiction at first glance.

  • @SupremeAmerican hey thanks, like most things nowadays it makes no sense. But useful information I appreciate it.

  • I own a pardner, I have brennake KO slugs and 00buck, just curious as I don't know very much about shotguns and haven't fired this one yet. Can I fire 00 buck and slugs with this gun Straight out of the box? also I purchased to sets of 00 buck...one is for damascus steel and twisted steel barrels...the other set is not. I noticed that there may be safety hazards in firing 00 buck and not knowing what to fire. both have 9 pellets, which should I shoot and are those brennakes ok to shoot too

  • @angelseatupward Good questions! In short: Yes, you can fire both rifled slugs and 00 Buckshot from your new Pardner. I frequently do. However, make sure you stick with 3" shells or smaller. You have me a little scared with the Damascus barrel stuff though. Damascus barrels tend to be very weak and can only handle shot-shells loaded with black powder. Even smokeless black powder can be too much for a Damascus barrel. Be sure you don't try and shoot "modern" shells in the Damascus.

  • just got mine yesterday very informative

  • @Ablethe7 Congrats on the purchase! They have a few kinks to work out, but I've found that a thorough cleaning of everything inside the action cures 99% of it. All in all, I wouldn't trade my Pardner for anything.

  • what kind of socket did you use to remove the stock??

  • @Chon12490 I don't remember exactly, but it was either a 10mm or 12mm. Something like that.

  • How many 2 3/4" rounds can you fit in the tube w/o the plug?

  • @sjr341 You can fit 5 rounds of either 3" or 2 3/4."

  • is it necessary to remove the brown packing grease?

  • @JulioCHernandez You don't "have" to but it may not function correctly. It's always good practice to tear down your new weapons and give them a thorough cleaning and light oiling. Plus you'll learn more about your investment that way. :)

  • @RazorTNK sweet, thanks for the info. this is next on my list. my first was an AR-15 i built my self :D

  • Serr. its made in China.

  • @baarulf Ok... What's your point?

  • @RazorTNK

That is a good reason to not bye one. I looked at one in the local store, and "Made in China" was stampled in withe big writing. Its ok that toys are made there, but this is not a toy..

  • @baarulf Yes, it is made in China. No, I don't support China, but I love this weapon, and for $169 you can't beat it!

  • @baarulf whats wrong with china?

  • this song sucks it making me want to not take my gun apart and just shoot myself in the face with it

  • @StrainingDingelberry Well, what are you waiting for? Make the world a better place.

  • @RazorTNK so you are saying you actually like this song wow people have gotten really fucking weird

  • As herbwalker said what is the tool that comes with this??I'm glad someone else asked!!

  • @ccisubsonic Not a clue. I didn't get a tool!!!! I feel ripped off now.... Thanks guys.

  • Hey, I got a question about an ITEM that was in the box with the shotgun. I bought the NEF 12gauge Pardner pump shotgun. Its a great gun and I love shooting it,but it came with a "TOOL" with it that I have NO idea what its for/where it goes or WHAT it even does. So somebody give me an idea what the heck this TOOL is for please?

  • @HerbWalker Hey Herb, I found one of those "tools" you speak of. The longer skinny end is for pushing the trigger assembly pins out, and the stepped section is for installing and removing choke tubes, I don't know about the rest... I'll get back to you on that. Thanks again for watching.

  • @HerbWalker the radiused end is to tighten the magazine end cap, but if you own the pardner that is fitted with the sling atachment it wont work, but hand tight is fine.

  • this is a very helpful video thank you!

  • @doctorbrevic Why thank you! I'm glad it was of some service!

  • this gun is the cheap heavier some what more durable version of the Remm 870MCS Shotgun

  • pardner vs Maverick 88 ?

  • @fuzziewinkle by far the pardner over the maverick 88...

  • @huntwithairguns

Thats what I need to know. WHy this gun over an M88 ? Thanks

  • @HerbWalker Its just overall a sturdier built shotgun. It has a steel receiver while the M88 has an aluminum receiver. The protector also has a much smoother action. I know there was a guy on a forum that custom made mag extenders for these. The protector will also take stocks and forearms from a remington 870.

  • Just bought one of these yesterday, I have the walnut version with 28" barrel. Shot some clay targets with it it and it worked fine right out of the box. In your opinion should I romove the brown grease or just leave it alone? Thanks

  • Heh, yeah actually you're supposed to clean that stuff out before you shoot it. :) If you happen to get an 18" barrel for it, don't worry you can still shoot clays. Check out my "Trap Shoot" video! Thanks for watching!

  • @RazorTNK I removed the packing grease from my pardner with the aide of your video, thanks.

  • Would you happen to know if a mag extension kit would fit on here (built for an 870)? Thanks in advance.

  • @blunderbus21 Yep, it does fit, but it sticks out past the barrel a bit. I'll message you with a place that will supply a +2 extension that fits flush.

  • Thanks man..I appreciate if you would send me the info!

  • @RazorTNK

Im buying this gum tomorrow. I NEED to FIND an extention for mine too/Can you help? Thanks/I also want a Stock & Pistol grip combo/Where & How much are these? Thanks

  • @HerbWalker OOOpppss This "GUN" tomorrow! See Im ALL excited already! hahaha Thanks

  • @HerbWalker Contact Craig at Gun Connection, he makes a two shot extender that is flush with the barrel for $65.

  • @HerbWalker His e-mail is GunConnect at prtcnet com

  • just got mine today :D! woot.

  • mine worked great right out of the box... looking to make it as tactical as i can..... your vid will help..... by the way like the nonpoint song

  • Thanks! Thanks for watching.

  • umm, is this a remington 870 clone? it looks very much like the exact takedown procedure for the 870?.. if so, does this use a steel or aluminum receiver?

  • Yes, it's a Chinese copy. Being as mine rusts if I don't soak it in oil, I'd say it's steel. Thanks for watching!

  • well if thats the case.. you should look into a quality, atleast spray-on finish... maybe some gun-kote... or if you have something large enough to boil the receiver in.. get some nitric acid and do an absolutely beautiful slow-rust blueing on it... but if you want sheer function, definitely a bake on aerosol finish you should look into for it

  • Good call! I was thinking blueing it. I'm not that big-a-fan of the spray on stuff. Thanks for the advise.

  • the spray on bake on stuff will give your shotgun a very, very durable, low glare finish thats perfect if you want a durable tactical look, so dont count that one out so fast, i used it on an AK-47 i built a few years ago

  • pretty much same as a 870

  • Yeah, it's the Chinese copy.

  • I just bought this same gun today and its an awsome gun except for one thing, it does not like to eject the empty shells at all, maybe once every 15 shells, idk its pissing me off though. I know its a 200 dollar gun but it should be able to eject the empty shells. does it need to be brokon in or be oiled down some more ? it will eject the live shells just fine.

  • It probably needs to be torn down and deep cleaned. My detailed tear down videos should help you out with that. Make sure you put it back together properly. Mine had a few problems till I tore it down and cleaned all the packing grease off that the factory slaps on there.

  • Its take-down and internals looks just like a Remington 870.

  • Yep. The 870 is a bit more solid, but it's pretty much an exact copy.

  • love the video..1 question, can i place an mag extender on this so that both barrels match-up. like maybe a +2??

  • Thank you! and Yes. Email this guy... Craig at Gun Connection

    GunConnect at prtcnet com

  • in taking it apart what did you think of the trigger mech? does it seem pretty solid?

  • Well, I'm no expert, but I didn't see anything that would make me question its integrity. It sure feels solid, doesn't look like anything would give on you.

  • Solid? more like a "Tank" This 870 replica is Solid Steel, no alloy here bro.

  • lol, Amen!

  • Do you know if you can put a REM 870 barrel on this shotgun? I only ask because my buddy has a 22" barrel and I like to dove hunt, wanted to use the pardner to hunt dove.

  • Nope, unfortunately, the 870 only has a 4 round mag tube, while the Pardner has a 5 rounder. I think the barrel indexing lines up but the pardner's tube is too long for the 870's barrel to mate up right.

  • Thanx

  • You're welcome! I know it sounds stupid, I don't know if it's legal, but you can probably still hunt with the 18.5 inch barrel. I have and do shoot skeet with mine. I'm hoping to get some videos up soon of me doing so. It works well.

  • That helps too. Its legal, but I was worried about not being able to hit anything flying in the air. Im a bad shot to begin with, so I was hoping the long barrel would give me a little more distance.

  • Great video, I love my Pardner Pump. Thanks

  • You're welcome! I love mine too. Thank you for watching. :)

  • Great video, i just got one today, and this video will help a lot with the take down. Thanks :)

  • Thanks for watching, and you're welcome!

  • Thank you so much. Just bought one and this helps immensely.

  • You're very welcome. It was my pleasure.

  • how do you remove the plug that limits the magazine to 2 shells??

  • Nebermind, finally got it out. God damn spring clip was not coming out easily.

5 rounds ready for zombies now!!!

  • lol, good, I'm glad you figured it out. :)

  • hey i got the same problem how did you get it out

  • Remove the magazine tube cap, by unscrewing it (it clicks while doing so). Then, push down on the black plastic retainer and turn it 90 degrees in either direction, but hold on to it because it can jump out of the tube and pop you in the face. Slowly and carefully raise it using both hands, remove spring, hold on to the barrel and point the weapon at the ground. A long plug lookin thing should fall out. Replace everything but the long plug, problem solved. Watch my detailed tear down vids.

  • thanks

  • Did that work for you? If not, let me know. I might be able to help further.

  • yeah it worked very well thank you for your help

  • I had the same thing happen to me when I got it. I love that shotty now that I'm up to capacity. I want to get a tube extender. Have you thought about that? I don't know where to get one yet. Also, I just picked up some #1 shot magnum 2 and 3 quarter. I never had a 12 before and I thought 3 shot was strong. I can't want to shoot these behemoths. Zombies beware.

  • nothing :)

  • the music? hmmmmmmmmmmm

  • What's wrong with it?

  • wow thanks for making the vid. i will use it as a guide for mine

  • You're welcome! Like I said, I'm working on getting a video up of actual explanations instead of just music. I just have to get it all in under 10min. :) Stay tuned!

  • same as the 870 takedown i like it is it realiable

  • So far I've run several hundred rounds through it, it's never failed to fire. I did have to work out some slide issues when I first got it. But it's been corrected, and it's one of my favorite guns. I can't complain for only $150.

  • same gun,the 870 accesories even fit it.

  • Hey I'm just curious I don't have a screw driver or bolt grabber long enough to remove that screw from inside the stock. Is this a critical step when trying to remove the internals (bolt, trigger assembly, etc) of the receiver? Or is it specifically for removing the stock?

  • It's not critical, but it sure makes it easier. You'll see what I mean once you get it apart. You can use either a flat blade screw driver or a 12mm socket and extension. Let me know if you have any problems or more questions.

  • Awesome, Ill keep checking for it!

And nothing wrong with it being a bit longer, because it is so specific and informational and if someone wants to know how to take thier gun down/put it back together they will watch the whole thing!

  • Great video, but it is lacking in commentary. I would be much much better if you scraped the music and vocally said what you were doing, that makes these things much smoother. That being said this is the only take down of the Pardner Pump I can find so THANK YOU!

  • You're welcome! I'm glad you liked it. I'll have a video up with commentary soon, as youtube is removing anything with music on it.... I tried to do a video with commentary before but I couldn't get it under 10min unless I kept my mouth shut. :)
