  • In the words of Wing Chun master William Chueng, "Bruce Lee was probably pound for pound the toughest in the world, but Benny 'the jet' Urquidez would give him a good fight. This the utmost compliment from a traditional master. One thing is for sure, Benny could take a punch, get back up from being knocked down and win. Being a superior striker, as well as being able to learn new styles, he would have no trouble in MMA.

  • THE REAL DEAL, A LEGEND.

  • Great guy i met him last week

  • Go Benny!

  • Benny Urquidez: REAL LIFE KEN MASTERS

  • B-B-BENNY AND THE JETS

  • I wanna watch the whole thing now.

  • "If I can't wear my long pants, i'm going home" LOL! what a legend

  • Real life Ken :D

  • What is the name of this program I want to watch the whole thing

  • he is good at hammering but i like more clean fighters , he does have hart , strength , gets the job done but its ugly

  • Sensei Benny and Stan Ward trained me when he had the jets gym in North Hollywood.

  • Benny is the best kickboxer ever, no one better then him. Sugar ray Leonard turned down a challenge from him.

  • Jackie Chan or Bruce Lee would knock him down..

  • @dawnnadir

You don't know what you are talking about. Benny was in two movies with Jackie Chan and after seeing Benny Jackie Chan said he didn't want to really fight him. He joked about being an actor where as Benny was "the real deal". Bruce lee's friend and fellow martial artist Leroy Garcia once said if anyone could have given Bruce Lee a run for his money it would be Benny Urquidez.

  • @samlockett

i think in Benny's "golden times" Tony Yaa or Jet Li would be good opponents and could do some exibitions with him.(aside from Bruce Lee). Van Dame couldn't match him and Chuck Norris would be too rigid with his Karate Style. Maybe Dan Inosanto or a UFC Champ like Frank Shamrock or Tito Ortiz can match him.

  • benny is the man

  • This guy trained me last week in san jose

  • He challenged Rickson, but i read he backed down and didn't want to put up his money. Don't know how true that story is.

  • @aknowneemus I never heard that. I do know Rorion challenged HIM and Benny started trying to add rules to keep the contest standing as much as possible. At that point of course what's the point because it's not a "real" fight any more. I also heard that they'd already met somewhere and Benny had gotten thrown on the ground and tapped out more than once so ...

  • Benny is a street dude man. He's a street fighter forget what you heard. He change up his game when that teachincal stuff was not working you see how Benny was smileing saying ok its time to make him respect me.

  • I just watched ufc130 it sucked. fighters lost all their energy in the first round in both main fights. and i'm watching benny, he throws punches kicks non stop. if he were young enough to fight today, he would have kicked all ufc fighters' asses.

  • @freebiri MMA has forgot alot of stuff over the years, they say it's always evolving but imo, i think for it to do that, they'll have to look back into traditional arts and take techniques from there.

  • Benny is good, but his brother Rhueben is pretty good too....pick your favorite of the two brothers

  • freaking awesome

  • all these years & i never bothered looking 2see if the man has any eyebrows...Thanks tacospartan now i see

  • Benny "The Jet" Urquidez is one Badass Motherfucker!!!! :D

  • i only knew benny from the jacky chan movies and only today discovered the depth of my ignorance about. Damn hes awesome.

  • karate lost too much to kickboxing so they setup american kickboxing ,karate really made big money then.movies dojo uniform pad trophies [every month]

the legend of liar.so many world champs.actually only continental champs.

newish concept??? LOL I call copy and paste.

    medias just brainwashed them.

  • Where are his eyebrows?

  • これは・・・ユキーデの器量勝ちです。彼の余裕というか、人格というか・・・日本人として負けて本望というべきでしょう・・・ユキーデ万歳!!

  • medias??????

where is this new form of karate???

kick boxing been around for 1000 years.

they all help one another in lying

  • @yimmiytube think your going over the top a little mate. Kickboxing as it is known today is newish in concept.

  • lies

  • youtube.com/watch?v=JcewWVOswpg&feature=related

  • Benny vs Dekkers... Would be a sikk fight but i think Dekkers would take it

  • damn I think his children are also action stars im not sure but i think so

  • i wished he would've fought in today's MMA during his prime. he would've adapted very easily.

  • @zcarenow that's the most common sense, non biased comment of this type ever. nothing like the 'omg bruce lee would die once he got into grappling'

duh - they didn't do it much back then. these guys are pros. they would've done great in MMA

  • @zcarenow benny knows his jui jitsu ...he even challenged the Gracie family in the early days

  • and also.. Have you ever seen any combinations that long and exact thrown in ufc?

  • put any MMA fighter in a kickboxing match between someone of benny's stature see what happens. stand that shit up! lol

  • what a fighter!! He totally destroyed that ugly asian guy...

  • what a fighter!!

  • The best ever! What i wouldn't give to train with this guy! The Gracie's presented Benny with the "Gracie Challenge" for 100k. Thinking he was just a stand up fighter. They later found out he was a black belt in Judo under Gene Lebell. The challenge magically disappeared.

  • He worked with Jackie chan in movie!! Hes good!

  • @leronolifephamsteru Dragon for ever

  • Thats one tough white hispanic.

  • Comment removed

  • I wonder how many seconds Chuck Norris could last if he were to stand against this beast..i mean just look at his face..that's a face of an enraged animal

  • what is the name of the doku ?

  • K1 is the best fighting.

  • COOL VID... THUMBS UP... AMUNRA...

  • every one watch the sit boon lernt vs benny the jet -loss!!!

this fight is some where on utube ..

  • Benny is teaching a kickboxing seminar in Canberra Australia this weekend, cool.

  • STFU benny , thai guy kicked ur ass and i was there

  • @pornpan96 Hey he's still better than Chuck Norris or Joe Lewis!!

  • 3:00 to 3:37 was possibly, the most intense beatdown I have ever seen. Much respect

  • The Jet is really awesome..+ he got style. he inspired me then,now...forever.

    compliments from Malaysia(Lawrence)

  • kickboxing was the sign of that time for martial art hstory. then came MMA. what is going to be the next revolution in these disciplines? any sugestions?

  • @peluchetaiwanes At this point? We'll see the gloves go away next I think. Aside from adopting Brazilian rules MMA is pretty extreme unless someone wants to throw sabers in there and spice it up with some fencing.

  • @tbreton87 doesn´t it sound like an argument for a direct-to-VHS 90´s B movie? :)

  • Seriously, I wish this was still big instead of MMA.

BJJ was entertaining when it was Royce Gracie beating dudes 150-200 lbs heavier than he was, and when UFC had fewer rules, and was more of 'a clash of styles.' Now that it's more or less a bunch of people of equal weight all doing the same thing...ugh.

  • @Elusareth yea

  • i miss this guy .. i want to see him again fighting against jackie hahaha

  • Awesome fighter. One of the best...

  • this guy is the real deal!

  • Benny the Jet is doing a Seminar at the University of Miami on Sep 18 and 19, 2010 in case anybody is interested.

  • Benni is one incredible machine ^^

  • Those two beatdowns were very satisfying.

  • They should have asked Benny why he ducked the Gracies for 20 years.

  • @fuckenaguru on the otherhand its documented that he was ready to take them on as they, thinking he didn't have any grappling experience. However, when the Gracie's found out he'd gained a Black Belt under Gene LeBell they refused to persue for a fight any further.

  • @fuckenaguru The Gracies wanted to fight him until they found out he was a judo player and wrestler, then they backed down.

  • what up youtube? y'all be browsing different sites on the internet or something?

  • That dude is in a movie with john cusack called grosse point blank

  • what is this reddit thing? googling~

  • FROM REDDIT LOL

  • @caneut SHHHHHH.. Excuse my friend, there is no such thing as "reddit"

  • i thought he was done for a second, then he came back and waxed him. that was pretty awesome!

  • Holy shit! Best fighting I've seen in a looong time.

  • BOOM! Benny is the man.

  • Benny is my idol> past,present&future....cheers from Malaysia!

  • 2:52 ... epic smile

  • benny loves those long pants

  • he shoulda been using those elbows and knee's

  • @Mider999 he said in an interview that this stuff should be kept out of the ring but yeah it would have made him even deadlier

  • he doesn't like the daisy dukes? lol

  • i met don the dragon wilson

  • It just goes to show: it is more important to master a few tecniques than to know hundreds and not master truly one.

thats why I have a few "favourite" tecniques despite practicing an art with hundreds (Bujinkan).

  • love it when martial artists like Benny 'The Jet' says ' ...'I'm not the kind to do it to hurt somebody'..he's not aiming to be recognized but to challenged himself in facing the strongest!!

  • "Benny will fight anyone, anywhere under any rules...."

This is of course bullshit. He has never convincingly beaten any Thai fighters. Most notable was his fight against Sitiboonlert, a Thai fighter who wasn't even the best at the time. Yet Urquidez had tremendous difficulty against the Thai style leg kicks and clinching. Sitiboonlert punished Urquidez and it was mysteriously ruled a no-contest.

    watch?v=o_TGpwCLqvc

  • Sittiboonlert at that time was rated 4 or 5th in the Lunpini Stadium rating. He wasn't the champion, but he wasn't a bum either.

  • @legkicker01 Nope he wasn't the champ but if he had so much difficulty with Sitiboonlert, one can only imagine what would happen if he faced the top Lumpini champ.

  • I don't know about now, but in those days, it had been said the difference bewteen champs and top rated fighters was very slim. Still I agree with you since Urquidez had demanded no use of the elbows for the Sittiboonlert fight.

  • @legkicker01 Heck, one look at Sitiboonlert and he looked like a champ to me. Fighters are usually afraid of elbow and knee range, for good reason. The Thai fighters are extremely proficient in that range.

  • Agree.

  • UFC is very gay....most people think martial arts is a sport nowadays because of it and if you are a true martial artist like myself then you will realise how stupid UFC is and most other forms of MMA leagues. The ground aspect fucking sucks and just look at all their bodies...they are taking roids. I'v thought myself Martial arts for the past 2 years myself at home and have been training quite hard day by day and have developed tremendous strength.

  • Legend!

  • Benny the jet fights like he was possessed by demon.

  • WHOA, rabbit punch at :13, kickboxing was hardcore back in the day!!

  • The UFC is so gay... Kickboxing like this way better... Benny is legendary...

  • lol how come they dont talk about when he got his ass kicked by the thai?

  • @thecrazyoftheinsane Actually, Benny won his match against the Thai fighter. The first bout was ruled a no contest after Benny threw his opponent to the ground in a clinch after the Thai fighter kicked him in the thigh. The rematch was won by Benny.

  • You are talking about Sanun Plypoolsup. It is true Urquidez beat him twice in Hawaii. Yes, he was Thai, but never was a Thai boxer. He was an Thai exchange student with some boxing experience. He was not a pro fighter back home.

  • @legkicker01 Actually I was talking about Urqudez's fight against Thai boxer Narong Noi, not Sanun Plypoolsup.

  • @44excalibur Actually, he lost that fight. The bout was not ruled a no contest, Benny lost and he did not show up for the rematch. The fact that you fail to acknowledge this is hilarious.

  • @thecrazyoftheinsane Sorry, let me specify. I was referring to Urquidez's fight against Thai boxer Narong Noi. You're probably thinking of his fight against Prayuth Sittiboonlert, which is still ruled as a no contest by the WKA to this day. It was a controversial fight, no doubt.

  • As for the Narongnoi fight, you can find the videos (3 part) here in YT. By watching closely, there is no way Urquidez won the fight. He was also decisioned by Sittiboonlert in Tokyo. The WKA had no authority to rule it as a no-contest since it did neither promoted nor sanctioned the fight in the first place.

  • @legkicker01 Well I know the Narong Noi fight was called a no contest after Urquidez Judo flipped him to the canvas and it went for 9 rounds. I did hear Urquidez won the rematch between them. I can't comment on the Sittiboonlert fight since I didn't see it. Like I said, it remains a controversy to this day.

  • You can watch the full round of the Narongnoi fight in YT. In the end of the fight, the Thai floored Urquidez with his roundhouse kick to the jaw. There was no rematch since no sanctioning body was interested in pitting the Thais against the Americans. Nothing controversial about the Sittiboonlert fight. Over here in Japan, fans know Urquidez was clearly decisioned. Only in the US, people want to make it sound controversial.

  • @legkicker01 Ohhhh, you're from Japan! I heard they don't like Urquidez over there that much.

  • No. the opossite is true. In the states, he was merely a good Mexican figher, but in Japan he could be the all-American champion. That's why he has emphasized, and sometimes over exaggerated his exploits here so much because he knew he could not command as much respects as Wallace and Lewis in the US.

  • I fought so many years ago in the olympic auditorium with Greg wilkerson. At that time the main event was Benny Urquidez and a Thsiland fighter who he beat. In the last round the Thsi fighter did knock benny down and he got up. All the rounds before that benny did win clearly. Their was even a riot at the Olympic auditorium that night, but benny clearly won. I have nothing but respect for the Thsiland fighters cause they put their heart and soul into it.

  • 1:18 he looks like a demon :D

  • Benny was one of the greatest kickboxers of all time. He fought anyone under any rules and even sometimes at any weight (Like Dana Goodsen) and he came out on top. He also is an incredible person and I had the honor of knowing him.

  • @marccost1

"The honor of knowing him"? He isn't dead, man.

  • "Benny is only effective when he is using his both arms and leg." How retarded can you be? That's like saying, "Take guns away from the military and they can be beaten." Benny's a champion because he has learned how to use his entire body effectively.... hands, feet, knees, elbows, and ground.

  • @moondijiralhanoppa the ground is part of his body? HOLY SHIT THIS GUY IS AMAZING!

  • @moondijiralhanoppa yeah so what, he's good and still standing up and the other guy's ain't.

  • The fighting was best In the late 70s and early 80s nowday´s It´s just anabola freaks lying on the floor smelling each others butt´s

  • haha well put

  • I hate MMA

it sounds coward to me beat someone in the floor, and gay to get a hug on them during 2-3 min

  • how immature

  • @svettos Too true.

  • @svettos Your so right :O

  • @svettos come on ignorant....if U now nothing shut up please, (k-1 Max, Chucks Fighting League, Weights Divisions...)...stupid ONLY stand up wanna be fighter

  • @svettos

I agree that kickboxing is a better spectator sport than mma, but it's not the athlete's fault, it's just the rules of the game. I would be happy to see kickboxing replace mma and ufc in terms of popularity and money-making potential.

  • @svettos Nope.

  • @svettos I don't fully agree with your comment, but its funny as hell so thumbs up.

  • @svettos Sure... sure... you seem like an expert on the subject... ever wonder where grappling came from ? Ever heard of Jiu Jitsu and Greco ? Start by actually knowing what you are talking about before posting.

  • @svettos if you're referring to the grappling that is so prevalent today... it is so, because when you add that into the equation, it can be the great neutralizer. The "lying on the floor" are actually very technically skilled martial artists

  • put benny on his prime and pacquiao on the ring minus the kick. pacquiao will smoke benny, hands down. benny is only effective when he is using his both arms and leg.

  • @eddieochocinco

I disagree with you, however, I think it'd be a monumentally good boxing match.

  • Well you can say that, except if Benny only worked his hands and not spent time on kicks, what's to say his hands wouldn't be ten times better? Just an observation

  • no shit, hes a kickboxer. moron.

  • @eddieochocinco

I think that is the defintion of kickboxing, as it says kick...boxing..so what you state is basicly.

Lets put a samurai warrior in the ring without a katana. Uhhmmm this way you can put a complete dipshit against a champ to win.

  • thats why he's a kickboxer... and manny is a boxer.

take away the ring and benny would clean the street with em.

  • He is simply a legend , there is really good movie fightscene were he takes it up with Jet li...one of the best fight scenes in movie history if you ask me .

  • Do you mean with jackie chan?

  • @hypercatjohn

yes sorry was my bad, its really a great fight. I mean the jet is still a guy you do not want to take head on even now on his age lolz.

  • hes awsome

  • A legend.

  • fuck america

  • man, i have SO much respect for Benny..

  • he looks the guy from the hannibal movie, the one lector skinned xD

  • Relentless!! damb, combo after combo.

  • this is my best friends great uncle.

  • Too bad Benny and all the other ¨real american heroes´´ never wanted to fight the thai way;) Benny said, they made me wear thai shorts and I said I don´t want to, means that he didn´t want to fight with elbows and knees either, You can see okao´s holding back something;) But you guys go ahead and think Benny was the best ever, But please look up Samart Payakaroon while your at it. And see what a REAL Hero looks like.

  • lol..don't be sour. Benny was a beast, show some respect. You can still use elbows and knees if your opponent is wearing long pants..shit, he's smart to demand long pants because any protection helps, even if it's just some clothing.

  • it´s so obvious that you don´t understand what the fuck i´m talking about. it was just a metaphor. it still is funny that he never fought with knees nor elbows. I´ve seen only one fight against a thai with knees (benny lost). Benny is a brand, he´s just a big promotion, you americans prefer image rather than quality.

Show some respect? what does that have to do with anything???? trust me, benny got enough money and fame out of this, he doesn´t need my respect;)

  • image rather than quality?

in our women maybe. not sure what the fuck you're talking about otherwise.

  • talking about all your real american fighters;) like superfoot, the jet, the dragon and what ever fantasy names you guys got out there. All good fighters but definitely not that good, You Yanks should look into some real names, instead of alway asuming you´re the best ever!; diesel noi, payakaroon, coban, dekkers, kaman, attachai, samkor, pramuk, silva, sakuraba, hoost etc.

  • Well, your anti-americanism is completely immature. I didn't give Benny a nickname or claim he's the best.

But I do know that at the time, Benny was the man to beat.

  • Yeah you´re right GI. You guys starting wars against every nation and then making movies about it really is mature;)

  • I didn't do either of those things. You as an individual are immature by judging me based on where I was born.

  • Oh don´t get me wrong, I love america, I think you guys have the best pancakes in the world, and the peanutbutter is great too. Some of the hottest girls i´ve dated were americans. I shit you not. But let´s face the facts; americans aren´t the most modest human beings out there. if you´re mature, and by the way you talk to me, you must be. you should acknowledge the fact that almost every american thinks that the world evolves around him.

  • But are they any worse than people from other countries who judge all Americans based not even on personal experience but on public image and make general statements that Americans are dumb, or that they are violent. I live in the united states of freedom and education, aka the northern half of the US. Draw a line between us, California and the south, and below that area you do not refer to them as the US, but rather "Jesusland"

  • I think everybody judges america, because as a country the United states has given them a bad image. I never said you guys are dumb, I was talking about sports. the last thing I want to know about a fighter is his IQ. I was talking about the way you talk about sports and always assume you have the best athletes out there. America never took kaman serious because he was just a dutchguy. When he fought blinky he wasn´t allowed to use his elbows. Because ofcourse you make the rules

  • We don't think the world revolves around us. We don't give a shit about the rest of the world. Some consider it a problem. I think they should'nt give a shit about us either. We should all focus on our own problems and leave everyone else be.

  • you´re so right, we should all think about ourselves and nothing else;) Somehow I think you´re the smartest american out there. I just want to say, that even if I don´t give a shit anymore about anybody else besides myself. I still find it important to post my opinion on the net;) and reply to anti-american posts. GOD BLESS AMERICA:p

  • generalization on a full scale national population is bad

    m'kay

  • starting a war on account of a false rumor is also bad m´kay;)

  • assuming the entire population wanted to go to war, therefore assuming all americans are responsible for the lies and deceptions of politicians is bad

    m'kay :P

  • Oh my god this is for all you americans out there. First of all, you guys are ALWAYS right! Second, you choose a government democratically and then blame them for every decision they make. What do you think the rest of the world is?? Dumber than you? It´s the American flag they´re burning on every continent, but I suppose that´s just because we´re all ignorant. When you win the olympics, you win as a nation. But when you fuck up(as usual), you´re never the one´s to blame;)

  • relax

I never said our nation in and of itself isn't at fault. We empirically are militaristic assholes who constantly push into others faces...as a NATION. Sitting there blaming every single american for the wars is a complete unnecessary generalization. I opposed the war, a friend of mine supported it. Blame him.

I'm criticizing the people (the individuals, not their nationalities or comrades) on here who jump to conclusions and generalize an entire population .

When did i say i was smart?

  • Don´t tell me that we´re the only ones always criticizing every american. I don´t know every american out there, lot of good people I´m sure, I didn´t even say that the president was an asshole. Don´t expect us to have an opinion on every individual out there. Do you have an opinion on all of us individually? I don´t have anything against you, as well as all the other great people that live in the US. But you guys better think about your rep, I´m not the only european thinking that way

  • thats cool, this is all true

but don't say "this is for all you americans out there" than say something like that.

I understand where you're coming from, i really do, it just pisses me off when people group people like that.

    I'm glad you clarified that.

  • I understand that it bothers a lot of you out there that we put you all in the same group. We should treat everybody individually, however it´s not always that easy. Well I think we have no problem here. Hey next time you´re in europe, could you bring me some JIF peanutbutter(it´s the best there is):P I´ll pay you ofcourse

  • Comment removed

  • how much?

DAMNNIT!! i only have the peter pan butter.

    :(

okay how much for the Peter pan?

  • I never tasted the peter pan butter, is it any good?? while your at it, bring me some cap´n crunch (any box doesn´t matter which) but lay off those fruit loops they suck!!!! Don´t know how those guys got rich, fucking sugar flaked crap;) how much do you want for the butter?

  • mmk. ya its good. But i agree JIF is better.

  • @vanmarty83 choosing a government democratically and then blaming them for the decisions they make is called holding your elected officials responsible...in most cases we are choosing the lesser of two evils anyways. And when we win in the olympics it is an everyday person winning. They are happy to represent all of us when they go. We are happy to celebrate with them. don't burn too many flags, doesn't sound very environmentally friendly.
