  • Which drugstore foundation who you recommend closest to Mac studio fix fluid

  • I THINK YOU SHOULD USE IMAN THEY HAVE BETTER COLOR FOR YOUR SKIN TYPE ME AND YOU ARE THE SAME COLOR I THINK U SHOULD USE PRODUCT THE CATER TO WOMEN OF COLOR BECAUSE THE HAVE MORRE RANGE OF UNTERTONE AND SHADES

    \

  • I noticed at the drugstore that they had plenty of colors for someone on the paler side to choose from yet they only had 2 colors for african american women. Seems pretty messed up if you ask me, there are various shades of darker skin and they didn't compensate for those women. I do love this foundation though!

  • it dries really fast..

  • your skin is so pretty, nice make up

  • i agree with the makeup, and i'm a big maybelline user. I use the dream matte/mouse line. the smooth mousse is what i'm using now, and it's the best color that matches my skin tone. I'm thinking i'll post a video reply. But it does transfer - ALOT!!!!! I'm older, so my skin isn't as oily, more combination/dry. But if I don't put a powder on, it's off by the end of the day.

  • I love the eye makeup!

  • this is my fav foundation...i think you put to much...when ever i go out people ask me if i even have make up on....and they cant even tell that i wear makeup with this foundation...u have to blend it really well .and dont use to much

  • ((( Oh and this product was one of my favorites!! I am a really light caramel color so I mix the Caramel one you have and the next lighter color. I have normal/dry skin and it stays one for me allllll day, and I blend it out so it doesn't look so thick I dont use much bc/ its so thick. So I LOVE this product!!! bc/ of my dry skin this product NEVER broke me out, and I got so many compliments on my skin when I wore it:) So the only con is for me is that they dont have a variety of shades..! ))

  • What kind of eyeshadow do you wear and what brand?!?! Looks great!

  • u look great. I hope you make it to the BIG time stars cuz ur good.

  • i wear the maybelline dream matte mousse: cocoa dark#3> and it is awesome... its rich and soft and smoothe!! it last allday!! have u tried it?

  • omg... I subscribe to your youtube a long time ago and I don't know what happen until I came across it again =O Good review girl. By the way, you're always prettyyyy =]

  • Omg u r soo pretty and I love love love your eyebrows :D

  • @alexispink13 aww, thanks so much hun!

  • @eyeXluvXmakeup ur soo welcome i love your videos do u mind to check out mine and subbed and add me as a friend i subbed :)

  • you look like beyonceeee :) you're so prettyy! thanks for the review! :D

  • @kristine5050

HA! are you serious??? LMBO, she looks nothing like Beyonce. hahahahahh

  • Hm, I just bought this 2 days ago, & bought this in natural tan.

BAD IDEA! lol. It looks very blotch & it is not very buildable when applying & doesn't last me that long. I don't use any powders or primers with it, but probably should =/

  • I can't live without maybelline foundations! I've used this particular one for over a year. I don't think it transfers like hardly... I mean I'll notice like a little bit of transfer but SO much of it stays on all day that it doesn't even bother me at all. I can even work out for like 2 hours without it melting off and I have super oily and acne prone skin. But I guess foundations work differently for different people..

  • have you found a foundation that does transfer?? if so please let me know i cant seem to find one at all!!!

  • please do a video on ur eye makeup

  • Most drug store foundations for women of color are trash. The undertones are usually too beige or yellow or too red. I use to love Covergirl pressed powder in Tawny but the undertones is a bit too red now. Smh. The best inexpensive powder is Iman Powder Mill and you can get it @ Target now and its only about $12. I use Medium Earth and I love it. It neutralizes the reddish undertones in my skin. You should try it.

  • I love your videos!!!!!

  • So it dosent work well for oily skin ?

  • that caramel shade is so gorgeous, it fits the name perfectly!

  • your review on this was spot on...

it seems great from the look and the texture..

but the wear and color is off.

  • nice lips (:

  • I LOVE THE MAYBELLINE. I WEAR THE CARAMEL, AND THE CARAMEL IS SLIGHTLY TOO LIGHT. THE COCOA IS 3 SHADES WAY TOO DARK FOR ME. SO THEREFORE, I WEAR THE MAYBELLINE, THEN I BRUSH ON THE IMAN BRONZER POWDER AND IT TONES DOWN THE CARAMEL COLOR. THEN IT LOOKS PERFECT FOR ME. AND THE IMAN BRONZER IS AWESOME, IT MAKES ME LOOK YOUNGER AND I HAVE PERFECT SKIN TONE. SO, I SAY THE MAYBELLINE IS GREAT WITH BRONZER. AND IT DOES LASTS ALL DAY. ITS A VERY GOOD MAKEUP.

  • i love this stuff! it stays on all day. the only thing that i dont like is that it doesnt come with a pump.

  • OMG i found a foundation to die for!! Check out Color by Cynde Watson. I use Sun brown for my skin tone but you would prolly be a golden brown. I got mine for 3.99 at Tuesday Morning but u can get it at her website for... get this 18bucks!! :) good good great amazing stuff :)

  • ur really preetty girl (:

  • I just purchased this product and she was right it transfers A LOT! They need to be sued for false advertising, lol. 24 hours my ass! Though here is a secret, if you add a powder like studio fix to it while it is still wet it does not transfer. Alone it transfers but with a powder it does not smudge as quickly. P.S. WTF is up with only two colors? Final thought, this shit sucks!

  • @Indierocklova lol, agreed!

  • your skin is shiny in this is it a product that did this??

  • did you do a video for the eye make up you have on?

  • Cant belive 6k ppl actually watch this crap.. heaeha xD

  • Yeah and your one of them. So.... heaeha back...

  • I've never been able to find any drugstore foundation to match my skin tone. I have yellow undertones but everything is either always too dark or too pink. Another example of of makeup companies seeing black women as only to shades.

  • Thanks for da review!!! It helps and keep it up!!!

  • Your foundation looks flawless

  • thanks for the review!! I almost bought it becouse of the superstay part... now I'm not waisting my money on this :)

  • agian...black people are not just 2 colors. i would never buy it.

  • At the drugstore that I went to they had a makeup counter with an assistant who did allow me to try on the foundation. It was Shoppers Drug Mart (which is only in Canada, i think). I have dry skin and some acne scars with a bit of hypermigmentation on my cheeks so this was awesome for me. I was going to buy the Revlon colorstay, but they didn't have all the shades @ the store. Also, I'm NW55 in Mac studio fix fluid, and Cocoa in this formula is WAY better.

  • i wonder why they havent bought this superstay stuff in UK yet...it sounds perfect 4 me...i hav dry skin, i don get oily much & i wuld really luv 2 cover up the lil marks dat r left on my forehead.....so unfair!...would tryin the maybeline dream satin liquid be a good option???

  • hmmm, I don't think so. I think its a different formula. It looks like our version of dream liquid mousse.

  • what foundations would you reccommend??? revlon colorstay, maybelline superstay, maybelline liqiud mousse or mac studio fix?? what would b your number pick out of all of them. i know they all have some issues, but which 1 would recommend, especially for (me) or people like me that has only skin.

  • I had issues with the MAC studio Fix Fluid aswell. It was my first foundation that I had ever bought, and it gave me zits everywhere! I saw someone else's comment about a ightweight foundation and you recommended Revlon Colorstay. So I guess I'll be purchasing that one.

Thank you for doing this review! I'm not buying MAc again because it's also very expensive.

  • Wow, that buy one get one free tip is really smart! I never even thought of that lol, thank you! :)

  • I had the same problem in which I bought the darker shade that you were holding and it was way way way too dark for my skin. I'm wished I had watched this before b/c I enjoy a natural look and not like I'm wearing a mask....

  • I really wanted to try this, but after watching your review I don't think I will. Thanks :)

  • i don't know if you have stated it, but do you have a tutorial on the makeup you are wearin in this video

  • thanks 4 the review i will not be purchasing this one!!!

  • Great advice on testing foundation while on sale. I definitely had to mix 2 colors to achieve my skin tone...and you're so right...is is sooo NOT transfer proof! like a dummy i forgot to finsh w powder and i was so extra oily in the middle of my day...ugh! thx for the review :o)

  • Wow you look like a black Miley Cyrus!

  • haha ,

    yeaNO .

haha , where did you get the from ?

  • You're right, she does look like a brown Miley Cyrus!

  • lol, i really wish people would stop saying that. I really hate that little girl. Well, hate is such a strong word, but I really don't like her.

  • Yikes! Sorry for the comment..

  • lol, its cool. no biggie.

  • love ur eyemakeup in this video...

  • I have to totally disagree with the last part of the video. I have tried several drug store foundations and this one gives the BEST coverage and it's very LIGHT WEIGHT on your face. The color is perfect for me, covers well, and I ALWAYS get compliments. you can use any powder with it but if you use the one that goes with it it makes your skin flawless. I use covergirl powder and I have Zero transfer and I wear it from 6am to 11pm. It's worth buying and I'll never use anything else.

  • if u want a tip i got a gf who is almost the same color as u...and she uses the darkest color but mixes it with sum sun screen(which most are white) it will lighten the foundation

  • what a great idea... ill try it myself sometime.

  • my for head and around my face is dark and getting foundation is easy because i get the darkest shade sometimes a little lighter.the hardest thing is getting one that looks natural and i have the dream matte liquid and mousse and i use them both on top of each other but the thing is it melts when it gets too hot

  • the foundation doesn't look good on you it's not even.i love your videos u r a make up expert

  • i needed to watch this before i bought mine

ha i think the shade i got is too orangy and dark

    :/

  • wooooooo hunnnie i must//have to say that your skin/face looks amanzingggggggggg!!!love it!!!

  • It definitely covers better than any foundations you have tried thus far as unlike with Studio Fix I cannot see your blemishes AT ALL. I do see what you are saying though--all the other negs make it inconvenient,,

  • omg i dont know what to buy.

should i buy the revlon colorstay liquid makeup or the mac studio fix powder(not the liquid one)?

which one lasts better throught the whole day? and which one also has more coverage?

i have oily trouble some skin with redness and i need full coverage?

so yeah which one is better at the coverage and at sataying throught the whole day?

  • would you choose this foundation or the colorstay one?

  • i would choose the colorstay. It stays on better.

  • maybelline foundations are really hard to match your skin because they always look darker in the tubes/containers. my fav of that brand is the dream mousse line.

  • I don't think I've ever found a maybelline foundation suitable for my skin, both tone and texture. They are all too light or too dark ..and ur right, mixing them does not really work out. I usually end up giving these foundations away, wasting my money.

  • This was so true!!! I put on my makeup before work, then after work I go to the gym. This stuff melted on my face, and was everywhere. I usually use the Revlon Colorstay which is alot better even when I get sweaty at the gym.

  • i love her make up

  • Love your product reviews. So I am going to ask for your advice.

Now I am looking for a drugstore line of foundation that is light coverage and stays on skin that is very prone oil.

We have the same skintone, and about one shade darker than you.

I am NYC so I am able to find anything you recommend. Thanks in advance.

  • Revlon Colorstay for oily/combo skin would be my choice. I really like it.

  • One foundation that i found that is really worth a try is Revlon ColorStay Makeup with SoftFlex. They have like different combinations like what I use is combination/oily skin and there is NO transfer whatsoever. I really recommend this product because I have been looking for a foundation for SOO long and this one works for me. So I just wanted to put it out there that Revlon Colorstay Makeup with Softflex is awsome.

  • I bought this today. Walgreens is having a bogo. Revlon Colorstay is great!

  • OMG I LOVE YOUR EYES IN THIS VID!

    8)

  • you know, i thought i had applied too much because it did transfer a lot and like you said, it "moves" around the face, specially on my cheeks. i tried using less and it was okay, but still transfer like crazy.

this found. just can't be compared to Colorstay foundation.

it's not that bad, but i am now only using it for 4hrs or less and if i know i am not going to sweat, lol.

    great review, thanks.

  • Hey just wondering if all the transfer came from the powder you put on top and not the actual foundation... Just a thought :-) I was really looking foward to trying it, now not so sure :-)

  • i tested it on my hand with no powder and let it set for 10 minutes and it was a little better, but still transferred just as much as any other foundation, so I still consider it false advertising.

  • For full coverage, what brand do you recommend? As your personal preference.

    Thanks.

  • mac studio fix fluid, napolean perdis stick foundation, estee lauder double wear. As far as drugstore, this one, if the color matches you properly.

  • love your eyes in this vid.

  • Revlon Colorstay would be my pick over this Maybelline 25 hour too....I was soooo excited when the commercial claimed it was transfer proof and long lasting i ran out and got it asap...so not the case. i HATE hugging people and leaving make up on their clothes...beyond embarassing. but so far, revlon color stay has done pretty well...

  • i hate the hugging/transfer thing too : ( i agree about the revlon color stay staying put

  • aint it? lol the only problem i have is that i have to use a concealer on acne scars so those areas are inclined to rub off. i hate that.

  • good info

  • Great review!! You look Gorgeous Gyrl!!

  • I LOVE this review. I like for reviews to give me ALL the info, pros and cons and be detailed. Thanks!!!! I hope you'll do more reviews.

  • Girl, you're make up looks flawless!!! I luv ur videos!

  • really good review..you have the cutest lips all the time!

  • Love the review...I always have that problem with Maybelline foundations. The darkest colors are caramel and coco and caramel is way too light and coco is way to dark. And I'm so bad at mixing foundations. They need more colors like Revlon colorstay or something.

  • Thanks for sharing. I love your makeup look.

  • I am SOOOO glad you did this review! I was going to try this out but that cocoa shade made me nervous because it wasn't red enough. Great review!

  • that is exactly the problem, not enough red. Its just a solid brown, which i thought might be a good thing, but it really not, lol.

    btw, miss ur videos girl!

  • You are dead on with this review,Thats been my experience with it and yes it does come off the one thing I liked was the color I am a caramel in that. and it broke me out.

  • what powder did you use to set this particular foundation? It looks flawless!

  • Thanks for the review!

  • Yeah it was a good review, really in depth. Thanks for the heads up.

  • your the cocoa

  • Everybody has said this already but here it goes again: STUNNING eye make-up ( very tutorial wothy hint, hint LOL)!

  • Your eye makeup in this video is stunning!

  • OMG, thanks for this review! i was given a free sample and was about to try it but now I won't! i'll stick to studio fix fluid.

  • I love your makeup in this video.

  • Great video, I love the lip and eye look. When will drugstore companies understand that WOC wear makeup and need colors that work for us.

  • I love the eye. Cant wait for the tutorial.

  • Now where did you get that Hello Kitty pin again? Ha Ha just joking =)

  • lol, you are too funny!

  • Thanks so much for this review

  • foundation shouldnt be this hard :( sorry about the color matching thing.

  • i totally agree, but hey, what can i do.

  • Wow! Thanks for the buy one get one free tip. Fabulous Point! I'll start looking out for buy 1 get 1 frees when I buy Revlon colorstay.

  • sale starts sunday @ rite aid

  • are you sure that it is not the powder that is transfering?

  • yes.

  • I recently bought some of this in caramel @ walgreens w/ the BOGO&I'd agree w/ u about the color pay off!!! The color was too dark, made my face oily&"mask-like"...and yes it transfers as soon as u put it on!!!! Ugggghhh!!! Definatly a waste of cash =(

  • great review ... everyone else makes it seem like the perfect foundation so it's good to hear some cons along w/ the pros... i don't know if you still have your MAC pump... if you do, can you tell me if it fits this maybell bottle? i don't usually wear liquid but i want to get one for the winter w/out paying MAC prices. i'm in NY so my skin gets dry during our harsh winters so i might give cocoa a try from what u said (it should match ) I hope u'll be doin a tut 4 this look...it's so pretty

  • oh i almost forgot... for those who want to try this Walgreens is having a BOGO this week

  • are the colors u used for the eye makeup white silver black and brown?

  • they are a frosty off white, dark shimmery brown, gold highlight and black liner.

  • hey why dont you wear studiofix fluid anymore

  • if anyone sees this comment, please help her out.

  • She doesn't wear it anymore because she was noticing that she was starting to have a problem with blackheads and since she had heard that other people were having issuses with the SFF and it being bad for your skin, she decided to switch foundations to see if it really was the SFF that was causing the blackheads... so apparently it was, and now she is no longer using it

  • Thank you so much

  • awsome

  • Will you do a tutorial on this eyeshadow look?

  • can you do a tutorial on your eye makeup well your whole face look!!! please &thank you

  • wow you have really nice white teeth =] im jealous and i love ur makeup in this video! tutorial?

  • It really depends. Revlon for the ease of use, color, and staying power. But Maybelline for texture and coverage.

  • i bought this and when i tried it within an hour it came right off

  • omg! please do a tut on ur eye makeup! it looks flawless

  • you look JUST like janelle monae!!

  • Great video. 5 stars!

  • thanks for the review love the makeup look and love the cute hello kitty barrette in your hair thanks for sharing : )

  • wonderful review!

  • I have seen testers for this product

Yes! testers! So the tide is changing in some areas of mass market beauty

  • Great review..{ls do tut on ur eye makeup.

  • Question after applying let it sit for like a minute or two..then apply your powder..and it won't transfer as much..i've been using it for bout a month now and its good..all Im saying is just try that and see how it works..keep up the work I love your videos not to many black people doing videos..ur the best

  • Thanks for that comment ;)

  • thanks. I actually do use it with a powder. And its not so bad that I wont wear it again, because I probably will. I just probably won't buy it again, thats all.

  • I agree with others your eye makeup looks fantastic. I actually just bought this foundation last night in Caramel and it matches perfectly. It is unfortunate that Maybelline can't do better than just two shades for women of colour. Thanks for the review.

  • great review

  • good review hun :)

Is that hello kitty in your hair? :)

  • Thanks Becka! Yup, that's hello kitty! A girl here on Youtube made it for me. I'll put the link to her site in the description box.

  • oh do so, it's supercute =)

  • where did u get ure theme music for the beginning of ure tutorial?

  • please do a tutorial on ur eye makeup plz!!!!!!!!!!!!! its so pretty

  • Wow, your makeup looks fantastic. PLEASE do a tutorial for this.

  • Your makeup looks really good!!

  • This is my favorite foundation and I do not like heavy foundation. Yes it is thick and opaque with full coverage. I think the key to this product is in the application. I first apply a little with a brush. A nickel size amount is usually suffice. Then after blending in with my brush, I go back over areas where I feel I need more coverage( like under my eyes). Then I take my damp sponge and go back over my face using stippling motions. The after effect is a flawless finish!!! :)

  • yeah, i can see how that might work if you spend that much time. But i just like to put it on with my fingers and go. I don't have time for all that, lol.

  • wow your makeup loooks great what are you wearing on your lips if i may askk :]

  • thanks! Its Sephora lipstick in #17 with Loreal Color Riche Lipgloss in Soft Pink.

  • Your eye makeup looks wonderful! Can you do a tutorial?

  • Your skin looks flawlesss !!!!!!!!

  • Thanks for the review. I was wondering about this foundation and I was planning on buying over the weekend. But I'm really not a fan of the Studio Fix Fluid because of that exact reason - it's too opaque and thick. I don't need that full coverage so I'm glad I hadn't already bought this!! Thanks again! :)

  • you didnt link in side bar :(

  • I set this vid to private so u guys shouldnt be able to see this yet, that's why there are no links or annotations. but YT is trippin and it's kinda pissin me off. Anywho, sorry about that and I'll put links up when I get home. Thanks for understanding.

  • I like the bracelet you're wearig on your right wrist. Where'd you get it from?

  • my mom gave it to me. It's really old but the brand is called Erwin Pearl.

  • Thanks!!!

  • the lip combo you're wearing is gorgeous

  • thanks! Its Sephora lipstick in #17 with Loreal Color Riche Lipgloss in Soft Pink.

  • i looked on their website and didn't see a #17, can you clarify cuz i love the way it looks too!

  • i don't know what to tell you hun. The bottom of the lipstick on say 17.

  • I was having a problem with the thickness of the foundation. It felt really heavy on my face.

  • can u do a tut on the eye color u used in this vid please.

  • Great review! I think I might try it, but I want to make sure they have my color..which is rare haha! I am always in between!

  • your makeup is so pretty! tutorial soon please!!!!
