I think the main problem with UTSU now is that it doesn't matter who is in office. Keeping your word is the major influence for students.
UTSU needs to lobby for a TTC U-Pass like UTM has. If a lot of students, both undergrad and graduate, use the TTC why not just lobby for a U-Pass in stead of a monthly transit pass. UTM pays about $80-90 for 8 months of free transit in Mississauga, plus they're getting summer passes(5 months) too for $60. Why can't we? SMH :(
I would like to see Corey Scott and the United for Action slate proposing to ammend the constitution to allow for free and fair elections and more transparency throughout UTSU. Why don't they have online voting like many of the colleges? Why is the CRO hired by the UTSU? Why was the media barred from attending all-candidates meeting? The UTSU should either address these questions or stop wasting student money on elections and just admit to being an autocracy.
Is he really claiming responsibilty for the TTC Post-Secondary Metropass? Absolutely outrageous! The UTSU was more concerned with alienating students by inviting in people like Angela Davis and Ward Churchill or supporting the Israel Apartheid Week, not looking out for genuine student interests.
wow, holy fuck, he's not wearing a v-neck
