  • in this culture yes victims are expendable not the pedorapists- thats bc its a patriarchy which supports religious who pimp women into marriage & children forced to visit or be in custody of their assaulters or rapists fathers,etc-at holidays its the victim who is excluded bc she s afraid of the assaulters more physically strong- iroquois matriarchy cultures girls re valued -daughters remain in the grandmothers/mothers clan for life-its sons who must move out at puberty to train job/join men

  • yes- you re speaking exactly how i was treated when i tried to protect the nieces & grandchildren-mother says "oh your brothers step daughter &your daughter lie but theres medication for that"-how can she not care about grand-children?i left my family for 2 years-but then my daughter got tel messge that my sister had died of boat accident -years later i found it was suicide &date the year b4-i feel pain that law forbid me to protect nieces/grandkids from our engineer father &rich brother pastor

  • Janeen, thank you for speaking out. I can't speak out publicly right now yet I know that holding the secret has & is dampening my life force. Right now the best I can do is to have absolutely no contact with my older brother who abused me & is "in love" with me to this day. My parents know. In a way that helps. I am angry at them for not protecting me but also pity them. They have been devastated too. I feel that if the whole family & all my friends knew I would be free but maybe just rejected.

  • Yes, you are so right Janeen, you must keep talking. Never stop talking! Never stop speaking out. I feel for you because I know how painfully hard it is to speak your truth and heal when relatives want to shut you down. But as we know thats just what survivors of child sexual abuse/incest need to do to survive/recover. Breaking through the cloak of silence that keeps predators safe will in the end I believe bring you peace. There is freedom in truth. Strength and love to you Janeen.
