  • and while he tries to "GAIN" some ground! :p

  • i misss this show

  • i love how this show makes you pick the most expensive items. Doesn't really make me want to buy those products lol.

  • i love this show!

    red always wins

    blue sometimes

    yellow rarely

  • I never understood. They have a limit of 5 per item. Let's use the guy as an example. He goes straight for the big boxes of Gain laundry detergent and then skips out of the area. Why not grab 5 Gain, 5 Tide, 5 Downy... grab 5 of EVERYTHING while you're there. I always thought about that with the diapers. Why just grab 5 things of Huggies and leave the Luvs?

  • @krazyzark you get 5 of each item, not brand. 5 diapers, 5 detergents, not 5 of each brand.

  • @rachexl guess they really never made that clear. I know they always say 5 of each item, but to me, a box of Pampers and a box of Luvs are 2 different items, even if they are both diapers... why else have both brands on the shelf if you're only allowed to grab a single brand

  • @krazyzark they have both brands bec otherwise it would look silly if they only had 1 brand of each item... wouldnt look much like a supermarket. they make it clear in the rules to contestants about the limit, but they dont really specify that to viewers.

  • @rachexl i know they want all the brands they can get on the shelves, after all, that's all the game is about is brands. I just think it's silly that they would make such a specification that contestants are only allowed to grab 5 of each TYPE of product and not 5 of each item. and as you say, I'm sure they make the rule far clearer for the contestants than they do audience. also explains why when they grab 5 big things of pampers they don't grab 5 of the other pampers sizes as well.

  • The obus back forms are where the big money is, and the meats.

  • who the heck needs a block of cheese that big?!

  • @tessadub Does it really matter when they are going for almost $30 bucks at the register on the show

  • Lol I remember watching this as a kid with my sister and my parents and I was always the red team my sister was the blue team and my parents was the yellow team , Mann those were the days :)

  • The girl in the red had a good game plan....

  • I remember watching an episode, the person had a bonus sitting right next to them. They didn't grab it. Idiot.

  • this is so funny!

  • The meat! Stay in the meat section! Jesus....

  • did you guys see the videos? i thought this show was from like the '90s, but they had meet the parents and castaway on the wall

  • @PhilTess1982 They also brought this show back for 2001

  • God, it's like trick or treating for adults.

  • Go for the Bertolli Olive Oil! lol...

  • I've been watching all these clips over and over and over, the past couple of days!!!!!!!!! LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!

  • they always go for the big packs of fake meat and ham but it never really seems to add up lol

  • Is that legal for Glenn to put that second pack of diapers in his cart?

  • I also wanted to go on this show too T_T

  • I love when they get the big cheese!!!

  • I miss this show and wish they would bring it back on the game channel.

  • the sound effect before david announces the video envelope was also used when the power prize was found in the kids' tv show fun house...

  • Comment removed

  • 2:16 why is glenn's voice sound so weird?

  • Lol. Did any of you see the guy's eye's at 0:22, lol. That look says, "oh fuck".

  • @SleepingWolf26 did you see the host at 0:38?

  • Lol yo they always be killin that cheese section

  • how long did this show run?

  • In the very short lived Australian version, they also had penalties - $100 penalty for hitting the cameraman, and $25 penalty for each breakage. One team went from about $375 to $30 for hitting the cameraman and then breaking about 10 bottles of pasta sauce!

  • @Brucetiki are there any clips from the aussie version online? My brother & I always wanted to go on the show when we were kids LOL!

  • Unfortunately I can't find any. They only made about a dozen episodes or so I think.

  • I miss this show a lot too. It actually brings back childhoo memories for me. I use to watch this all the time as well as Rin Tin Tin. I wish I could go back in time, those were the good days.

  • Who was the screamer at 4:45-4:50? LOL

  • これは日本でやってたぞ。パクりか?

  • love this wshow never missed it never watched it day by day

  • I ONLY LIKE THIS PAERT

  • i watched this with my mom a long ass time ago i miss this show

  • I miss this show :(

  • me too! =[

  • GIANT M&M <3 <3 <3

  • i watched the whole show just for this part

  • I waited for the carts to collide and cart parts, groceries, and runners everywhere.

  • i loved this show

  • What year is this?

  • like in 2001 or 2002 not too long ago

  • this definitely looks more recent than the episodes i have from 1991 and 92...

  • i love when the big "money grabber" is the bread center because as he's sayin what kinda breads to get the players make faces like they just really got it locked and when they get over to the bread center cant remember shit and just start throwin any kind of bread in there lol. not just this episode particularly though....

  • (laughing really hard)

  • DAMN!! they really need to bring back this show.. Brings back memories. 5 stars for me.

  • i wonder if she ever did start that cosemtic line??

  • I still love this show.

  • Has anyone ever collided on this show b4?CUz from the looks of it it looks very possible lol

  • haha...i used to watch this shit???

    lmao

  • I'm reacting the same way... this makes me feel like such a fricking loser.

  • Lmao! Me too. When I was 12, I used to watch this every day after school. I'm 19 now, and I am ashamed to say I have yet to hit pause.. o.O

  • hahaha i love this show too

  • me two

  • Don't be embarrassed guys, this was a good show. :D

  • I never understood why the contestants didn't just run around and throw everything they could in their carts instead of being so selective..

  • All you get is five of an item, and they take time to throw in.

  • I think they put them in those sweaters so they get more exhausted while running. Lol.

  • Loool have the contestants been drugged up with laughing gas? The guy in yellow makes Ned Flanders look like a mortician in comparison.

  • 2:26 damn, those chesse are expensive!

    $26 per wedge?!

  • For all of that cheese, I think it's a bargain.

  • --------------VIDE0 GAME of FUN------------

    Instructions:

    1. Pause video at around the 1.40+ mark

    2. When the VHS Video library is displayed pause when the entire top row is visible

    3. Get a scrap of paper and jot down all the titles that you can identify

    4. When this is finished, unpause, then repause when the second row is visible

    5. continue until all rows have been accounted for

    6. Compare with a friend (heck, why not post on this wall?)

    7. Lets go, and dont "Doubtfire" yourself (hint, hint)

  • i would think it would be easier to fill the cart with many small items, rather then larger items...

  • you've obviously never watched. it is easier, but you make less. this money is all about making more. remember: we're talking about capitalism here.

  • I hate the lady with the accent who came on in the background. that had nothing to do with the video. it wasn't even the video.

  • I'd run right for the bottles of alcohol if they had 'em

  • @pbiasizzo SICKO!

  • @pbiasizzo FUCK YEAH !!!

  • @pbiasizzo LMAO! I would do the same

  • @pbiasizzo fuck yeah!!

  • A sweep that just seems a little generic I have just seen. But a rarity I do see & that is team number 3 go into the sweep having not gotten any additional time. Glenn desperatly needed that movie & didn't get it; he should have gone to the bread center for extra money but I didn't see him do that. Other than that he didn't give up & stayed competitive with everyone else in thwe sweep. We will know see how it helped out.

  • I ALWAYS WANTED TO GO ON THIS SHOW

  • @abeautyfulvirgo same here

  • @abeautyfulvirgo Me too

  • You dont even show the winner. Complete rip off.

  • Winner of the sweep is announced in Part 4. Go there.

  • what year was this one ?? anyone know ?

  • damn huge cheese O.O

  • They said those cheeses are $26 a peice...I wonder...because that's some expensive cheese.

  • The meats aren't real, and neither are the cheeses..in fact, the winning team only wins their Sweep total in cash (the food gets donated).

  • I guess it was a stupid question.

  • one of the greatest game shows that was ever on tv, too bad its still not on the air.

  • this video brings me back when i was like six. i always used to mwatch it with my sis!

  • Best game show ever!

  • and they say consumerism is dead. think not!

  • team three rarely has a chance

  • yeah, they didn't get any bonus time! If you stick with 1:30 you have a deffinite loss.

  • seriously this was the best show

  • I know!! BEST ONE IN THE HISTORY OF GAME SHOWS!!!

  • BRING THIS SHIT BACK!!!

  • How would you like to be the commentator on this show? Pretty sweet job

"And she's goin' for those turkeys!"

  • lmfao, when the sassy guy runs. this show makes me hungry, hee hee

  • is this show still on tv?

i used to watch this and then shop til you drop back to back every day

  • The host played Janet Wood's husband on Three's Company!!

  • why cant you just stick out your arm and shove everything you can in sight into the cart? I would be able to fill in 5 carts in half a min

  • because you had a five-unit-per-item limit.

  • I know what you mean, but do you get penalized for having too many, or do they just not count them? If that is the case, I would just shovel shit in there, plenty would probably be broken or over the limit, but I think it would be worth it.

  • I think if you grabbed six, you got credit for none. And yes, they count everything.

  • LOL that's what i used to say...

  • This show was awesome! I miss this.

  • this show is far from trash it was agreat hit and was on longer than some game shows it is a great show and is missed

  • Why do I love this show so much? I don't get it. It is such trash, but I get so excited at the prospect. I want to go on it!

  • i don't understand your comment. you call it trash, but it excites you?

  • i dont undestand..

  • Woah, did anyone catch what Rachel screamed out to Marissa (3:47-3:50)?

  • no...i couldn't make out her words.

  • I miss this show =[

  • The funny thing is...teams' actually didn't get the $250 for the bread, or for the famed super sandwich because of missing that darn twist tie...oh the easiest things prove the costliest.

  • Or in the case of the Super Sandwich, leaving out even one ingredient.

  • Excuse me? What was that supposed to mean toward me for? If you can't say anything nice to me, don't say anything to me, period.

  • That was the International Bread Center in which the contestants listen for the shopping list to get an extra 250 bucks.

  • Two thumbs down on your comment already!

  • You know, I actually like Randy's style of announcing. For example: "...hoping she can sweep up some prime cuts BEFORE this is a 3-way race!" Then, here comes Glenn.

I'll tell you, I know Randy wasn't anything like Johnny Gilbert, but Randy was pretty good as announcer.

  • I've been watching Supermarket Sweep from September 1995 to August 1998 and again from December 2000 to March 2004. I also remember the blue on yellow logo.

  • I noticed a small goof. At 3:33, Randy says that Glenn finds "today's first bonus." However, Marissa found her bonus about a minute earlier than him (it's a stuffed chicken that she finds in the deli case, and Randy fails to mention it when she finds it).

  • You know, I bet the old Hap Palmer (famed kids' recording artist, best known for his "Baby Songs" series) song "Wiggy Wiggy Wiggles" would be great music for the Big Sweep.

  • What's Baby Songs? Is it the same as Kidsongs?

  • Well, yeah- but those are songs Hap himself (and his wife, Martha) wrote and performed, rather than the traditional/popular songs that KS used.

  • From 1990 to 2001, the contestants were picked out of the audience.

  • The contestants were always predetermined before the show. That whole "picked out the audience bit" was a facade.

  • Yeah, you can tell they didn't jump up like Price is Right contestants do.

  • I bet it woulda been different if Sweep had shot recent episodes at local grocers

  • That's what they did in the original version in the 60s.
