thank you so much for the great info, I'd love to buy one of these things- last question - when you use categorize-does it go through all the leads, organs, etc. I tried one out in Guitar center and it seemed to go through 50 leads- maybe it was "set" that way, does it out of the box- let you go through all leads- that would make this so worth getting, going through the presets by category. thanks again - LOVE your video's-your solo on the Phatty for one of these days, was amazing.-
Since the Ti has so many sounds, how are they borken down in the sounds banks, are they categrozied by leads, basses, chordial, etc. - it would be nice to just go into a bank and try all the leads without having to spend hours-weeding through various banks-please let me know-I'd like to buy one, but I wam looking just to play, not into the tech end -thanks so much
@realguy640 The banks themselves are a bit of a mess, but sounds have a category associated with them which you can easily browse through. You select a category (leads for example) and you can then use previous/next preset to go through the instruments in that category. You can also press the shift button and the three knobs below the display to quickly browse sounds, either by category, bank or preset within a bank. Using the plugin software (TI integration) it's even easier.

@misterjustincool it can be, however with the loads of free softsynths around you can actually get some very nice results on a low budget. Imho it gets very expensive when you go with vintage analogue stuff.
@AceHarding I'm not one of them. I take my privacy very seriously, so I won't prove it to you. You don't have to take my word for it. I understand if you don't. @realguy640 im pretty sure you have nothing to worry about . electronics are bound to breakdown sooner or later and its not something that access is known for so you just read about a couple of those bad cases .
NICE solo - love the Phatty Accents - WHAT KEY is that solo in - can't figure it out!?!?!?!?thanks, just bought the Virus TI ,is is being delivered - your videos played a big role in deciding - reviews by people talk a lot of crap, you just have to hear it and hearing it played well, makes a difference.
thnak so MUCH! Whn buying something so cool and expensive - all info HELPS - one last thing, when you sid you can save the setting for each sound in multi-mode - do I just put the volume where I want, like any other setting or do I have to hit a "shift" button under patch volume - is this nec. to set volume for that zone?
thanks again in advance for all the excellent advice!
New TI owner here- HELP - when spllting, I know you can change the setting for each zone and sound you play in - can you control volume level for each split (do you have to save the sound)? So you can have a lower volume set on a bass ound on one octave and a slightly higher volume on another octave? Anyone who can answer would be so appreciated!!!!!.
@realguy640 cant you just use the patch volume, hold shift and its under the amp attack knob. I dont use multi mode much at all but i assume it should work
@sacredgeometry - thanks so much for your reply, know at least I have an idea, I just bought this off ebay and haven't received it yet. This knob is used for other patches right, so when you hit shift- do you need to save the sound in one of your 512 spaces in RAM or the shift keep it on that volume and when you go to the next sound you can make the volume more or less? most keyboards have a way of doin this, but it is rarely mentioned in manuals.
Ok to my knowledge this is how it works, You get 128 multimode ram slots to save your multi mode patches, whilst in multi mode all edits made to any parts are automatically saved until you change patch. Even when you switch the mode or even the virus off it remembers what you were doing (which is nice) anyway the only time you would need to save is when you want not to loose the sound or if you are switching patches, at that point it resets the patch to the last saved state.
@realguy640 Also ... Whilst using a DAW and sequencer mode it automatically saves your patches with the project file (at least in the case of Ableton Live, i haven't tried any others yet with the virus) So you don't even need to take up your precious RAM space when working on songs in DAWs. You simply save out the project and when you load it next time your virus will set itself up where you left it.
Wonder if that works with Logic. We're getting so lazy as keyboardists, though. I even sometimes feel bad just having the (power-on) patch recall selected on my Triton Extreme. Then again, our forefathers didn't really have access to instant recall of 1,344 Programs and 1,280 Combinations (Roland's "Live," and Yamaha's "Perform" mode). I hated hunting for a new sound upon power-up.. however... starting with a blank slate, in my experience, is the superior creative kickstart.
@ORUPRANKSTAZ In this case its probably good as RAM has a maximum number of writes so its best if you dont have to use them all that often. This way your virus will last pretty much forever.
Yes I assume it works in logic as AUs and VSTs have it as inbuilt behaviour and its inheriting that behaviour from that side of the virus. I agree with the patch recall, its a little worrying but im sure the amount of energy it uses is minimal. I worry about the LEDs on the virus as they breath on standby.
You missed the point of my comment, entirely. Think Zen. My feeling "bad just having the (power-on) patch recall selected.." was not in regards to the longevity of my Triton Extreme (I did not indicate owning a Virus, though it would be nice) - after all, it uses a simple CR2032 button cell to power storage. Also, I am not worried about RAM, as my TE's RAM compartment can be accessed from the top panel by sliding a simple lock/unlock switch. ROM... that's different.
jusr bought a Virus TI, I am new to synths in general, ahd much of th ejuno series alll monotimberal - when the keyboard is in split mode - I now you cn control the setting of each sound on one zone and the other - can you control the volume? Do you hve to save the sound to do this? ANYONE or yourself anwering would be big help - no one seems to know and I like spliting as opposed to just laying it on another track.
wow it keeps getting better and better . I got a keyboard and can make a song but i can't play very well . i would trade my girlfriend and left nut to have half your talent .
This track or improvisation sounds a lot similar to HIGH CONTRAST´s track "Days go by"... even sounds and bass ine are similar. but good improvisation!
Hi I go by the name of Super Star O &i just got a virus ti i am looking for a sound designer to make me custom patches for the virus ti2. i am looking to pay as well lol. i can give examples as to what kind of sounds i use and want & also link you to my website were you can hear beats. I am big on the net and have even produced for over 25 major artists so take this serious.
contact me back via email plz even if you dont do this but know of a sound designer.
How about you post a video response proving your point rather than demanding that other people go through the effort of supporting your own arguments?
@DanielSilvestriProd i dont particularly think Ronald Jenkees is anything special as a keyboard player, that said he has a lovely personality and a lot of charisma :) which goes along when since he is a performer.

How about you post a video response proving your point rather than demanding that other people go through the effort of supporting your own arguments?

Not bad, but Ronald Jenkees could do so much with this.

Eh eh everyone has his own skills, not everybody can be Ronald Jenkees but Ronald Jenkees isn't the perfect musician as well ;)

@DanielSilvestriProd
Indeed. Ronald Jenkees is kinda overrated, there are always better musicians. Even the best have their inspirations and sources.

@DanielSilvestriProd i dont particularly think Ronald Jenkees is anything special as a keyboard player, that said he has a lovely personality and a lot of charisma :) which goes along when since he is a performer.

@DanielSilvestriProd Agreed 100% we should only strive for excellence and not perfection
