"Growing up" is becoming more open-minded, not less. So "growing up" isn't for one to solely accept atheism as mature, but to accept all beliefs, including another person's non-belief. If you don't believe, so be it -- but that's not synonymous with maturity. As for myself, I came to accept God later in life after I couldn't positively prove why we should except that the physical world is all there is to reality. After all, can such a statement be proven physically? The answer is no.
I would love God to show me the way, and I want him to come into my heart :/ but I've tried over and over again, I can't seem to feel him. I want him to hear my prayers but I don't think he does. I'm starting to lose faith. :( what more can I do?

My room mate believes she is an atheist.. she actually thinks she is better off not believing in God.. but, often i hear her mentioning God in day to day life and i dont mention that to her because i believe i am if i dont make her tell me all over again how she doesnt believe in God and believes that there is physics in every thing that happens.. LOL... maybe, its a fashion to be an atheist.. but, its humane to believe in God..
Dont give up in beleiving in God. He's always there. Even though people can't prove it, I feel in my heart, mind, and soul that hes real. In everything I do, I beleive he is real. Don't give up; one day you will have a relationship with him again; you just have to believe. There is nothing to lose, yet so much to gain.
What I've noticed is atheists aren't atheists, the term is a contradiction anyway. What I see is people so angry at God they deny Him. Jesus stands at the door and knocks, answer it and be happy.

I don't know if you are a person who enjoys a good book, but I would suggest "Case for Christ" by Lee Stroebel. He was an atheist reporter who set out to prove Jesus did not exist and found proof that not only existed but that he was indeed the Messiah. There will always be ignorant people, both Christians and non-Christians alike. If you were once saved, you will always be saved. I believe you still have Him in your heart or you would not have posted this. I will be praying for you.

Also I'd like to acknowledge your admittance of God's premonition of what Satan and Adam & Eve were going to do based on his trait of being all-knowing. Every Christian I've talked to about this before throws that argument out the window right away and wouldn't accept it as a possibility. It was very frustrating
@wo14shs33co10 I understand the suffering argument, it is very hard to argue for a God who allows suffering. But part of not being equal to God is that we don't understand his logic, and we don't know his plans for all of us. Its not as if God himself hasn't felt the pain we are going through, he isn't immune to it. A part of him died by crucifixation, one of the most painful ways to die. Having Faith in God also means accepting that we won't understand his ways because of our human limits.
@ecscott16 see ive been given that argument before also. And in that case I find it's truly a question of character. God is an eternal being and what does an eternal being do to fill their time? I would create also. Who's to say He hasn't done it before either? But to do it in such a way that makes such suffering, is it really necessary or the only possible way for an all-powerful, all-knowing being like Him to get meaningful worship?

if God is perfect, then why are his creations imperfect? Based on the normal, easy answer of Satan, I'll elaborate. Satan is God's creation and he is the most imperfect thing in the universe. So, how could God, being perfect, create something that even had the capability of becoming imperfect? why did he make a mistake in handling Satan and Adam & Eve?

But he gave it to us fully knowing the consequences, that Satan would choose to reject God and fall from heaven, and sin would enter the world. He knew the only way to save us would be through the death of his Son. Why then did he give the choice? I believe there would have been pointless for God to be worshiped and loved if the people doing so have no choice in the situation.

"Growing up" is becoming more open-minded, not less. So "growing up" isn't for one to solely accept atheism as mature, but to accept all beliefs, including another person's non-belief. If you don't believe, so be it -- but that's not synonymous with maturity. As for myself, I came to accept God later in life after I couldn't positively prove why we should except that the physical world is all there is to reality. After all, can such a statement be proven physically? The answer is no.

I don't know if you are a person who enjoys a good book, but I would suggest "Case for Christ" by Lee Stroebel. He was an atheist reporter who set out to prove Jesus did not exist and found proof that not only existed but that he was indeed the Messiah. There will always be ignorant people, both Christians and non-Christians alike. If you were once saved, you will always be saved. I believe you still have Him in your heart or you would not have posted this. I will be praying for you.

@wo14shs33co10 I understand the suffering argument, it is very hard to argue for a God who allows suffering. But part of not being equal to God is that we don't understand his logic, and we don't know his plans for all of us. Its not as if God himself hasn't felt the pain we are going through, he isn't immune to it. A part of him died by crucifixation, one of the most painful ways to die. Having Faith in God also means accepting that we won't understand his ways because of our human limits.

I would create also. Who's to say He hasn't done it before either? if God is perfect, then why are his creations imperfect? Based on the normal, easy answer of Satan, I'll elaborate. Satan is God's creation and he is the most imperfect thing in the universe. So, how could God, being perfect, create something that even had the capability of becoming imperfect? why did he make a mistake in handling Satan and Adam & Eve?

But he gave it to us fully knowing the consequences, that Satan would choose to reject God and fall from heaven, and sin would enter the world. He knew the only way to save us would be through the death of his Son. Why then did he give the choice? I believe there would have been pointless for God to be worshiped and loved if the people doing so have no choice in the situation.

Fredgamer 12 none of us are perfect ,only the Lord Jesus and we all fail him everyday of our lives, although you may believe that he has abandoned you or that he is not real deep in you're heart and in you're God Given conscience you know that this is untrue as he promises us he will never leave us. People say it is a fact that there is a God, but infact there is no real actual proof so it is not a fact. I for one feel I need to believe to make my life feel whole. I don't buy into the right wing agenda or judge people for not believing. I was raised a Christian, turned Atheist, now am a believer again. Take out all the "crazy" nuts and it's actually a good thing. All the Christians I know are good people. If it helps oneself then why not? Atheist or not, whatever makes u happy in life.

No matter what anybody says God is real. SO real he doesn't NEED science to prove he is real. Usually they have not. Most are hurt by man (or woman) and take it out on God. But Charles Darwin wrote in his autobiography that he believed in God, as did Newton, Galileo, Einstein, Pasteur, & most other intellectual giants, I wondered if you would share with me why you think you have lost faith in God?

@mskimberly373 that's good a part from the fact, i dont believe bacteria formed me at all, i know that small life forms(micro organisms) sustained from water and plants, which then evolved into simple creatures who eventually evolved to form the various advanced species of animals you see today,even we, homo sapiens are not the only human species, we are the dominant one, and beat the other species of humans through adapting best (our intelligence) and so now, the other human species are extinct

@mskimberly373 all living things are complex, even small plants are just as complex as the largest tree, but it is through adaptions over many years that have caused these complex organisms to be. I believe the bible is fascinating and at a time when humans knew very little of their surroundings was a good thing to help us go on living our lives without the burden of constantly seeking why we exist. But as we've advanced we've made many scientific breakthroughs that provide more evidence...
