I think you made a mistake. The title should be "MONDRIAN art BY children". That's who did this, right?
Whoever did this, I'm sure that Mondrian didn't take much more time or effort to draw his "masterpieces" than the "artist" did in this video. But he sure sold them for more!
Take a little more interest in Mondriaan, if you look at his progression you'll see he was not just a kid with MS Paint. You may not like his 'final' style but 'childish' it is not.
People who paint squares don't really have style. they just have squares. Which should seem boring to anyone who is serious about art. The reason Mondrian didn't use secondary colors was he wasn't skilled enough to do so. So he simplifies and calls it a new 'style'. A stain on the great dutch tradition.
@beradification Sure if you care about the realisation of piece it has never been easier for anybody to reproduce the same thing, BUT Mondrian new how to paint. All the thoughts he went through thaugh to end painting these squares in this particular periode of the history make it particularily remarquable.
@beradification I don't think it's about realisation or thought process or anything like that. It's composition in it purest form. Either you see it and like it or you don't.
As for the creativity aspect: there are endless combination of forms and colors, some of which beautiful to me and most are not. It is not at all trivial which combinations work and which ones don't.
Mondrian art has been used on cycling clothing (La Vie Claire), and company logos (LOOK), and by high end fashion designers (YSL, Mondrian dress). Its been used in many other places.
So either all of these people and companies are childish, or the critic (thats YOU) is in need of a major spanking.
Don't hate us for your boorish level of artistic development. Are you a Muzzie any any chance? That would explain it.
@nightowl8936 I've got news for you, companies don't use logos because they like them, they use logos to gain as much money as possible from gullible people.
i saw a video of Mondrain, but constructing a house with blacks lines, and square reds, blues and yellows.. i need this video.. for Architecture.. please help me!!.. i hope one answer
@lauthf It is very meditative to look to this. It has a relaxing effect.
Maybe good for children with ADHD.
Just add some relaxing (minimal) music, something like Satie.
Thank you.

I like the title of this video, because that's what Mondrian is, an artist for people with childish tastes.

Piet Mondrian imagined that the lines and colours continued out of the frame out in the surroundings.
