I've learned the hard way that even with light tap rules in place that players sometimes don't pay attention to it - having nearly lost my glasses many times.
For me personally, it isn't that big a deal - I have an above average pain tolerance -there are many variables involved. I was for example in a college LARP where even with the light tap rules they require 5/8ths at minimum. It's all about individual game preferences though in the long run, just giving an opinion.
@travelsonic Thank you for your opinion, but our system has been in place for almost ten years with out an issue that was the fault of the weapon safety.
@travelsonic Our system has been in place for almost ten years now. Hasn't been an issue. Feel free to use what you like for your system. We will use what we have found to work for us. If we find it to be an issue in the future we will change it. To date, I've not gotten a complaint from a player that wasn't the fault of another player's recklessness.
(This is Dace) Thanks very much. I assume this is current, considering it went up less than a week ago! I was afraid of making weapons for Aura after hearing that the requirements were extremely stringent compared to my experiences.
can we use flat blades?

3/8ths wall thickness insulation + 3/4" PVC = ouch. Even with light tap rules being implemented, this seems like a terrible idea.
