And I contend Superman can't make a sonic boom because he doesn't have loud ass jet engines creating a pressure wave.

It's sad when a trailer does better than the actual movie, not uncommon but to have it happen to an iconic figure such as Super Man and have the movie screwed up as bad as it was, oh well thank god for Smallville, at least that's bad ass still.
The story was heartfelt - told the story of the man and his struggles better than any of the prior films, the acting was top notch all around and as the last two scenes in this trailer demonstrate - the visuals are breathtaking

the biggest problem was that instead of making a reboot they tried to finish off a 20 year old storyline. this trailer makes it seem like its a reboot. especially that scene where all the people are looking up.

This trailer brings a tear to my eye, being such a fan of the originals. I dont' mind if the series is rebooted, but having an entire movie dedicated as a kind of tribute to the old Richard Donner/Christopher Reeve movies is far more than I could have wanted. I like this movie, even if there is nothing to follow it.
This Trailer was really really cool, though the movie wasn't nearly incredible as Richard Donner's original 1978. The reboot will be interesting, but I agree, the team of Gene Hackman and Ned Beaty, Margot Kidder, Chistopher Reeve, they just combined to make an awesome film, one of kind. Hope the reboot succeeds, but the original is still one of the best movies ever made.
The opening of this trailer is particularly poignant, given that the young Clark Kent nearly broke his neck (if it weren't for his powers of course). Very symbolic.
I remember watching this trailer for the first time and the hairs on my arms and the back of my neck standing straight up. Unfortuantely, the film didn't so so well and they are rebooting it. From now on there will be no canon to the original films and it will be a fresh new look at the franchise.

@Splerteeki yeah hes also a character on chuck too he does alot of comic and fan stuff his career has actualy been better since this movie ..i still think he should be in the new one he plays a good superman and clark kent...sadly it was the script above all else that ruined superman returns...not the movie itself or the actors its was the plot

It's sad when a trailer does better than the actual movie, not uncommon but to have it happen to an iconic figure such as Super Man and have the movie screwed up as bad as it was, oh well thank god for Smallville, at least that's bad ass still.

This movie is AWESOME!!!!!!!
The story was heartfelt - told the story of the man and his struggles better than any of the prior films, the acting was top notch all around and as the last two scenes in this trailer demonstrate - the visuals are breathtaking
This, along with the Dark Knight are my favorite superhero movies of all time
Brandon Routh MUST come back as Superman and the rest of the cast needs to come back as well. I was amazed at how well Kevin Spacey portrayed Luthor

Few trailers send chills down my spine, this one and the second Dark Knight trailer, the Two Towers Trailer, and the Phantom Menace Trailer.
Brandon Routh looks like a great Superman - I would just put the S symbol on the cape

this trailer is what the movie should've been. Brandos voice and speech with the soundtrack at 1:00 is epic. Almost a call to humanity "they can be a great people Kal-El, they wish to be, they only lack the light to show the way." That by itself is inspiring.

@Jayvenile No he shouldn't. Unless he can make it much lighter than Batman. The Batman movies were twisted and dark, which is what Batman should be. Superman, however, is about hope, and inspiring the capacity for good that people only "need the light to show the way".

the biggest problem was that instead of making a reboot they tried to finish off a 20 year old storyline. this trailer makes it seem like its a reboot. especially that scene where all the people are looking up.

Lois - Cassidy Freeman
Lex Luthor - Mark Strong - he is already bald and plays great villains
Perry White - Tommy Lee Jones

I think they should bring superman back and do something really out of the box with him. Just really go for it and don't be so traditional, there's already so much tradition in this series. It needs to be shook up a bit.

This trailer brings a tear to my eye, being such a fan of the originals. I dont' mind if the series is rebooted, but having an entire movie dedicated as a kind of tribute to the old Richard Donner/Christopher Reeve movies is far more than I could have wanted. I like this movie, even if there is nothing to follow it.

This Trailer was really really cool, though the movie wasn't nearly incredible as Richard Donner's original 1978. The reboot will be interesting, but I agree, the team of Gene Hackman and Ned Beaty, Margot Kidder, Chistopher Reeve, they just combined to make an awesome film, one of kind. Hope the reboot succeeds, but the original is still one of the best movies ever made.

The opening of this trailer is particularly poignant, given that the young Clark Kent nearly broke his neck (if it weren't for his powers of course). Very symbolic.

I remember watching this trailer for the first time and the hairs on my arms and the back of my neck standing straight up. Unfortuantely, the film didn't so so well and they are rebooting it. From now on there will be no canon to the original films and it will be a fresh new look at the franchise.

Well this was not that good to begin with. Also I herd that the Superman film franchise of the 70's and 80's was dead. Like the Batman franchise of the 90's. When you wan't to continue a dead franchise you reboot it. Not make a squeal to those films.
