  • How did you get the indoor shots without grain? Or noise?

  • @rlmcclure286 Lighting! :) You are referring to the indoor shots in the earlier part of the video? We used a Kino-Flo four-bank for overall fill and a 650w Fresnel for the nighttime balcony shots. I can't remember if we used color or diffusion gels on the Kino-Flo but we probably did for a couple of the exposures. All standard stuff. Each slate should say what ISO we set the camera to. I don't believe we went over 640.

  • @rlmcclure286 To be more specific: on each slate under "SCENE" was the ISO number we used for that exposure. The f-stop used would also be listed elsewhere on the slate. Shutter speed should have been a constant 50 because we wanted the closest equivalent to the 1/48th sec standard shutter speed of Arriflex and Panavision motion picture cameras.

  • Thanks for the add. As a follow 7D user, I'll be looking forward to more vids :)

  • @hartperez Likewise :) More to come, don't worry. What I'm still reeling from is that you managed to interview Joe McBride! The Other Side of the Wind is something I've been following since 2005, ever since I got a copy of Chimes at Midnight on VHS.

  • by the way, the colors in scene 500 are very nice, I like the greens that show up

  • hey Craig, why was the shutter at 50?
