  • To grevatious:

Your question: Who would think about pressing the clutch when in an emergency situation?

My answer: Everyone that was properly trained how to drive manual shift gear vehicles. It becomes a natural, automatic reaction. Only someone who usually drives automatic gear will use only the break pedal and choke the motor. Let me guess, your car has automatic shifting, right?

  • Oh hey! Have you considered - fast abs magic (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now)? Ive heard some amazing things about it and my work buddy got ripped Six pack abs and lost lots of belly fat with it.

  • Who the hell brakes while stepping on the clutch when in an emergency situation????

  • type in "give me 4 week abs" in the youtube box and click on the video with hearts in the title to learn how to get a 6 pack in 4 weeks.

  • Mein Vater ist schon über 50 Jahre bei BOSCH

  • Of coarse it's a woman driving..

  • i beg to differ with "shortens the braking distance" simply because... only an ass would slam the brakes like what we can see here at 2:21

threshold braking will give shorter stopping distance than ABS

  • Remember ABS, ESC and TSC DO NOT replace a alert and safe driver. The best safety feature in a car is a safe driver.

  • ktos ma sie rozjebac, to sie rozjebie

  • don't speed , so you never need ABS.

  • buen aporte

  • 3:50 FOILAGE!!! Is bloody marge simpson narrating this?

  • best vid about abs

  • In addition to all the safety advantages, ABS will also spare your tires.

  • So Bosch is the progenitor of ABS?

  • On snow I wish I could turn ABS OFF!

  • Best ABS video description on Youtube

  • 好正嘅教材!!

  • Check out my vid and get your FREE workout guide!!

  • Forgot the name of the video... But i saw a (What i believe was a) 1999 Dodge Viper GTS in Viper Red Skidd of a Cliff during testing because the wheels locked during a turn. Luckily... the Driver Wasnt hurt, nor the Snake.

  • @DetonatorYellow Sad part is a lot of people that watched the video don't understand what happened, blame the car rather than physics. Here's the video name: Ferrari vs Dodge Viper - See Who Wins

  • I like Brembo, Baer, Bosch, and NGK for brake parts.

  • i just wanna know..say you are going over 160 km/hr, and then suddenly, you appy full braking. what will happen if you have abs ? what are the possibilities ? please let me know in detail...skidding n stuff...thnx

  • depends on how shitty your car is. 2001 jetta 2.0 na. ABS made me crash! I jumped on the brake expecting my abs to take over, but it locked up. I lost a good distance before i was able to react and it even locked up a second time, although this time i was ready for it so i quickly pumped it. For Winter abs is a godsend but i now feel its dangerous for normal driving conditions.

  • @rocketsingh0071 what car?

  • @rocketsingh0071 Its still possible to skid due to the inertia force of braking upsetting the balance, but much more unlikely with ABS. Should be ok if you know your car well.

The most scary part of non abs car is the full braking on different surface as seen in the video. In real life, many speeding cars lose control because of that with or without abs.

  • yeah my Bosch ABS module has recently broken.

No one disagrees ABS is great and a proven life saver but the bosch system has well known faults.

    Good video though

  • two mistakes in this video:

    1) abs does N-O-T shorten the braking distance. because brakes alternately disengage, braking distance grows longer.

    2) they drive manual transmissons.

  • it dose.

  • umm NO IT DOESNT.

  • mmmm yea :D

  • if u press ur brakes at 90bhp (firm not looking up)

before you hit 40 ur brakes will need more pressure.

With Abs.. Its always at max so its better then a firm pedal.

  • TRANSMISSION DOES NOT MATTER. You are thinking of Engine Braking.

It depends on your tire + road surface. ONLY on a dry pavement with good tires do ABS? exhibit a longer braking distance. Up to 15% of slippage from a rolling tire will help it maintain traction on most surfaces. However, ABS is usually calibrated to keep that margin only for lesser conditions, thats why it will only shine when wheels can easily lock, such as on slippery surfaces, or panic braking maneuvers with economy tires.

  • 1) it DOES shortens the braking distance under full pressure braking..

    2) it doesnt matter, in MT, you normally use clutch too with your brake to reduce engines weight from tyres & brakes, the same principle works in AT and/or DSG transmissions. so yeh.

  • i dont have ABS its very dangerous to use a car without it

  • true

  • ABS is very useful. My car got that.

  • Which is the reason I believe those principles are wrong. Governments should impose safety as standart. Okay you don't need to have 150 air-bags, but every car should come with standart dual, side and window bags....

  • I'm sorry, I disagree of that. Here in Greece plenty of vehicles come with that safety-pack. The issue is safety isn't supposed to be optional, considering the basic devices any vehicle should contain.

  • ABS GOOD! FTW!

  • Nice ,interesting and highly useful!!!

  • I dont have my car enymore becouse I did not have ABS. Shittt!!

  • sorry to hear about ur car man, i lost one of mine without ABS myself.

  • I love how these safety feature videos always have super-dramatic musical themes

  • ABS, ESP and AirBags should be standart to all cars around the world. There are some countries which still sell it in the luxury-pack option, which is ridiculous, since safety isn't luxury. It's basics. Good video, thanks for sharing!

  • So should spelling tests!

  • The dude with the Sprinter should be banned from real world...

    ....

    omgwtfroflmao

  • It's possible to out brake ABS with LOTS and LOTS of practise.

In a panic stop (and hopefully it doesn't happen very often) the natural instinct is to bury the brake pedal as hard as possible. ABS gets around the shortcomings of this instinct and the stability issues thus caused by preventing the wheels from locking

  • Sorry to disagree of you Paula. But While using ABS the brake pulses 60times per second. This is really impossible to make even with lots of practise. Even if you are an excellent driver the maximum thing you can do...is to avoid your wheels of lock but this will cause longer distance to stop your car or even to make the speed lower but this is not enough to make a safe maneuver.

  • i don't have abs and my wheeles don't lock because y dont push the clutch when y begin to brake, not until the last moment, only so that the motor doesn't stop, if y have enough time, but generaly it's practicly imposibe, you can downshift before braking so that the motor revs even higher oposes the wheels much harder

  • Sorry but why do they put their foot down on the accelerator and the brake?

  • the one hes tapping with the right foot is actually the brake and the one on the left is the clutch. manual cars

  • Omg! Thank you :)

  • they press the clutch so that the engine do not turn off

  • thank you Bosch!

  • I agree with what you said as they are just abusing the non-abs brakes, but for the general public ABS is certainly better. TBH I like my car without the complications, but I also know how to lift when tires are locked. Generally ABS is better the typical driver who is only interested in getting from Point A to Point B safely and is not there to learn the specialties and other fun skills involved with driving.

  • well they schould learn to do some decent braking, if they want to drive responsibly..

  • i noticed in the video that when they applied the brakes they pushed the clutch down why is this (i don't drive lol)

  • So the engine doesen't die when they stop.

  • bosch is the best

  • @frombduzu Not anymore.

  • great

  • ABS IS THE BEST

  • Mmm while some might suggest that safer cars make unsafer drivers. Fact is that ABS seems to work and..well everybody who drives will one day get into a situation where they have to break hard! Even yes possible around schoolzones ;) (actually mostly..those kids running around and parents getting their kids!)

  • I had gone for the auto expo in Delhi, India and they gave me the CD - Simple - hope i'll be spared.

  • Lol

  • Superb material, shows many various situations in which driver must rely on ABS.

  • very informative.. i just bought ford focus.. never realize the huge advantage of ABS....

  • Awesome vid xd

  • Great vid.

  • nice vid

  • Great vid on abs! Ive got the bosche system on my mercedes!
