Yeah that's a wacky rig. I used weedless Carolina rig today and caught 3 decent large mouths in the middle of the day. It was actually the first time I went bass fishing and they were the first fresh water bass I ever caught.

@undergroundfishing: bass aren't the only fish to die if you leave there mouths open. all other fish (with few exceptions) die if that happens because they open there mouths, take in water, and let it pass through there gills and out of there bodies. if their mouths stay open they can't take in nearly as much oxygen through there gills. Keeping there mouths open is similar to holding your breath underwater. you can move around for a little while but not very long.

@freakmaverick Fish don't breathe water, they breathe in oxygen. They take the oxygen from the water that flows through their gills. If their mouths stay open then their gills don't work.. Anyway, nice fishing underground.

Is that the pond at Gessner and Little York? Man I've been there probably 20 times and have never caught any bass. I go there to practice my lure techniques. I can see them and drop the plastic worm right in front of their faces, and they still won't bite. I've given up on those bass. Next time I'm just goin after them catfish with some stink bait.
