Hes lying I played a money making game in that chapter and maxed out my essences and I found out that you could only upgrade it to lv 3 from there. The earliest chapter you can get it in is in chapter 8. Upgrade your wooden sword twice in chapter 4 to see.

The funny thing about that weapon... at least in my case... is that it's most deadly when you're dude is almost dead... the konchi, kenji... or whatever letters they are start pulsing and you can destroy almost any enemy with one hit... I walked through fiends on end when it was in that state... of course... if I got touched... I died...

just goes to show you never to underestimate a game's Magikarp-foil, the wooden sword is the magikarp of Ninja Gaiden, bein the weakest weapon, but, upgrade it fully, & it becomes the Unlaboured Flawlessness, the Gyrados of the game (one of the most powerful)

You usually get it before the 2nd Alma fight, but you can sacrifice upgrading the others to get it quicker.

Ah, I see. One more question, I just revisited the fourth mission in the first Tier (Path Of The Master Ninja), and I used the Dark Dragon Blade to completely decimate 100 enemies. In your opinion, is the Unlabored Flawlessness or the Dark Dragon more powerful?

I'd still go with the unlabored, because you can double or triple your damage when you're weak.

well thats not necessary. if you play ninja gaiden good you can upgrade everything and get UF at the soonest point possible.

right now i play ngs on very hard and i never farmed yet. i got all upgrades, all items and of course i got the UF at the first chance i got xD. (and i even have around 80k of essence left xD)

ultimate techniques are very usefull ^^

I farmed for it. I have it on level 8 (the one which introduced the soldiers with the gun and spear attachment. If you go to pleasure street (which is where the bar is) the soldiers keep coming back every time you enter the bar and come out. The Xbox symbol is there so you can keep getting health and nimpo back. Also there is a save next to the bar. I got all my weapons upgraded to their fullest and a lot of health items.

Strongest weapon in the game. You call kill some bosses in seconds with it; if timed right, some can be taken out in one hit(you'll need essence and low health for that).

The easy way to get it is either the bats at the beginning of the Aquaduct or the bats in the Magma Cavern near the see-saw. Just kill 2-3 w/ shuriken, hold down Y, and collect the essence after they're all dead.
