EVERY FIGHTING GAME COMES WITH STANDARD. a lot of people arent playing offline cuz the fighting is too FUN

Ok I'm thinking about getting this game. However I've seen quite a few bad reviews but, their main reason for giving this game a crappy rating is because it apparently doesn't live up to the previous soul calibur games. I've never actually played any games in the series so that won't affect me. Please reply because I really have no basis to get the game other than it looks fun, and seeing as how there is no demo and I have no video game rentals nearby, I need people to help me decide. Thanks.

@343Films If you have never played the series..buy it, the soul series is a very good fighting game, however if you have been playing from at least 2 I wouldn't buy it, it looks to much like sc3 which was also a big dissapointment

@thoroughbred765 I mean not to offend your opinion but it just felt way different, in previous games the fighting was closer up, in sc3 it was further, it used a different system, the characters were changed a lot, to many new characters, it just didn't do it for me, personally 2 was my favorite especially cause of characters like assassin and so on so forth, and Astaroth keeps changing every game like every other character

@olegplottrot that's doesn't make any sense at all. Soul Calibur is pure fiction and not based on any history or whatsoever. Ezio's story IS based on the history, which could take place in history... if the apple of eden-part of the story would be real. They just installed Ezio into Soul Calibur and Desmond is playing it on the Animus (just watch the trailer closely and you'll see what I mean)

It would be F**ked up if soul calibur would be in Ezio's story... cause that means that the fictional world where desmond lives in (present) all the soul calibur thing would be real for him.... which would ruin the story. @masterman3735 From what I can tell from watching it over and over, there are VERY few, if any. I'd guess...heck, one frame? A half a frame? XD They're basically instant once they get out of their pre-animation.

The physics on the clothes look really beautiful - a big step up from Soul Calibur IV. The characters are all awesome-looking too, super psyched about Ezio - the first Soul Calibur guest character that I actually like, aside from Kratos. Oh, and Link, but I never had the gamecube version of SC2. :(
