I fell in love with Sydney when I visited in 2008. If it wasn't for the absurdly high cost of housing I'd move there in a heartbeat.

it was a lot more prosperous during the 2003-2007 years, however from late 2007 on it has gotten dirtier and less exciting, a bit stagnant right now.

The visit will be a little more exciting nowdays if you include the Royal National park, Parramatta cbd, Darling Harbour, North Sydney and Penrith and Windsor.

Sydney as a whole is a very big place.

If you ask a city dweller from the CBD chances are they have not ventured out further away from the CBD, and are often a little bit munted.

Be very wary of government intervention in any area.

Every facet of the UK is controlled by central socialism.

The majority of housing is social housing. were normal people cannot afford to buy a good home. They have to buy socialist housing.

That is one of the reason so many people leave the uk and travel to Sydney.

You have a beautiful country that has far more freedoms than you realise try and keep it that way.

every time I look at Centrepoint, it still amazes me, how tall it is...and I've lived close enough to the city all my life...

oh yes, there's usually a bunch of street performers on Pitt Street (the no-road zone) at any given time

i agree. i am in the u.s. and we have a terrible problem with mexicans and blacks who have taken over most of our cities. you can't walk freely at night in any of our major cities - especially at night.

forget living anywhere near downtown unless you opt to pay an exorbitant price for a house in a gated community with a wall and a security guard at the gate. our country is rapidly descending into a bankrupt situation with obama running things. i want out before we go bust.

It does, doesn't it. Bloody impossible to find a good spot on the actual day though, unless you get really lucky.

Fun times, people cheering like crazy, the trains getting incredibly clogged up but still with surprisingly few incidents, coming home at four in the morning, throwing everything next the bed and falling asleep and waking up at 3pm...
