"Nu-style" is still hardstyle, just with better production, more complex melodies, and less amateur sound. Finally coming through as a respectable form of music. For a genre that's 10 years old who could expect the older stuff to be perfect.

Nustyle is a fusion of Nu-NRG with Dutch Hardstyle. This on the other hand is progressive electro/trance. Nu-NRG is a bit like Dutch Trance with its huge hall epic reverb except it uses hard acid trance beats. Hardstyle is a genre known for its thunderous (reverse) basslines and waltzing melodies. Nustyle is a fusion of those and the result is an epic genre with epic music melodies. Sadly like epic trance, Nustyle is often abused for the fact simple dance songs are easy to make with it..

Yeah, it has kinda gone what I would call "candy" for sure. Commercialising music is nothing new though. It happened to acid house, house-house, trance, electro, and its gonna happen to this dirty dubstep everyone seems to be into. Just look at "dubstyle". Just another sell out. Get over it. This mix features some more commercial tracks, but if you wanna listen to some harder stuff, go check out Theracords or Tillt. And it's funny how you mention Dubstep as a "mature" style or something, most of mainstream Dubstep tracks have some gay vocals and crappy drops. There is, of course, some good stuff.

I know it has a more commercial sound, but there are some amazing Nu-Style tracks. People should stay more open-minded. I mean one of the things I like about Hardstyle is definetley that it offers a bunch of options for fans - from the reverse bass tracks (there are still producers who make it, but they are less known), to nu-style, dubstyle, anti-melodic tracks etc. Don't you think that it would be boring if this music hadn't evolved at all in these 10 years?
