As a former US Marine, it's interesting to see who the competition would have been in the Cold War. I have a lot of respect for the Soviet/Russian military: the iron discipline and intense training makes up for the lower-quality equipment. It's hard to say who would have won in a battle between the two Marine forces. Great vid.
During WW2 american marines dived from thier boats into nice warm pacific water, the soviet morskoi strelok waded in ice cold russian water only to face a much tougher enemy, than some jap who thinks hes rambo with a bayo they had jerry with mg42s
True, but the Germans would at least surrender when they were out of ammo, whereas the Japs would fight to the last man with banzai attacks. I'm not saying the Soviets had it easy (far from it) but the US Marines weren't exactly having fun clearing every bunker on every island in the Pacific. On Iwo Jima they only took 216 prisoners out of the 21,000 Japs on the island (the rest were killed in action or committed suicide), because they refused to surrender.
They didnt have low quility equipment. Name some examples of their poor equipment. Only thing I could consider would be electrical equipment however they were designed to be very rugged in a Warmachine designed to not stop or be held up, plus to remain intact from nuclear weapons.
