I have a Boxster and I'm always surprised about comments that it sounds good. The cabin is very well insulated with the top up, which dampens the exhaust note. Yet, even with the top down I'm still disappointed with the sounds. It does have a nice understated muted growl, but only when you give it some serious revs. My old MX5 which I sold in 2007 sounded throatier.

well a Saab is a compromised car, yet it has strong follwers, and kinda has something special abt it, i dunno if i would own one, but still wouldnt mind driving a fast one every now and then,

it will sure test ur nerves when driven hard :)

The exhaust note is NOT "absolutely unbelievable." The Boxter doesn't sound good at all. My SAAB Viggen with a 3" downpipe with race cat and a straight through exhaust sounds WAAAY better with a whole lot more power and fuel economy.

Lets put it this way mate, I have one sitting on my drive and it sounds WAY! Better than it does on the video. fantastic drive and wicked performace, i have the added BHP and the alternative turbo pack. like shit off a shovel

I guess you've never driven a Boxster. It is known for being a pleasing car to drive especially due to its exceptional sound. And we are not talking about aftermarket fartcans. Anyway, why waste my breath with a saab driver. Take your glorified volvo and go drive it up a post.

All that perfect weight distribution is fine and dandy until you flip the bloody thing over. ANY car with a chopped off roof is NO sports car anymore. If you've ever seen what happens to the driver when they flip a cabriolet you'll forget about the stupid Boxter. My Viggen produces 300 hp and 300 tq with only the stock turbo and I get 33 mpg combine fuel economy. I have 4 doors and a cavernous boot accessible through a large hatch opening. My FWD Viggen is neutral through the twisties, too.

You're an idiot who's never driven a sports car. FWD=understeer. Viggens are great on the highway. That is it. And no greater than a bmw 330 or an alfa 159 v6. You seriously should realise you don't own a sportscar before you go out there and kill yourself. You have not felt sports grip until you try to powerslide at high speed and the grip is so damn good it does not let you. You just have no clue my friend and there is a whole other world awaiting you with real sports cars.

Ooh, sounds like you're a sports car genius. In fact, if you haven't noticed, power sliding a car doesn't make you go fast at all. Let me give me the list of suspension components I have so far: Poly bushings all around, 6 point subframe brace, Koni adjustable springs/shocks, heavy strut tower brace, engine and gearbox poly mounts AND various rear anti roll bars. If I put my 25 mm bar in the back, it makes my car very oversteery even in very tight corners. It has NO understeer at all.

Good for you. It seems you've found a way to defy the laws of physics. In a saab. I however would rather follow common sense and believe that you just don't know what driving hard & fast is and you have not put it thru any proper driving test. Or you're just lying because you feel a need to justify the reason why you got a car as lame as a saab. Enjoy.

lol. i have no plans for such a trip in the near future. I live in Europe. Anywhere in Europe will do and I'll bring my non sports car (ie not a grandfather semi luxury overpriced heap of junk saab). I could also acomodate your needs for humiliation in Canada in about a year from now. How about an EVO X or a C2S ?Wanna race those? Heck I'll even race you with the abarth 500 i just ordered as my city car.
